I’m learning and enjoying your video. I had owned and cruised sailboat for over 50 years. It took Hurricane Ian with its 155 mph winds and 20 foot storm surge to move me from sail to power. The storm destroyed our 46’ Beneteau. We now have hull number one of Pilgrim 40 Gozzard series trawler. Trawler cruising is different than sailboat cruising. You wetted my appetite to visit Europe once again.

Hello Stephen, wow Ian, has made a lot of damage, I saw on Insta. Hope you came out well money wise. When it rains cats and dogs, or when it's cold, remember that you are in a cosy wheelhouse now. ;-) I love to sail, and miss it, but hate 'facing' the wheater whilst being at the wheel.

@@MVLadyLiselot lol. Made out well. No. Not at all. However everything works out for me. Always has and always will. Our insurance agent collect our premiums but failed to bind the policy with the underwriter. So no insurance. The boat ended up in the State’s Mangrove Preserve so it will need to be cut up and lifted out in pieces. The Government FEMA is over whelmed with 65,000 applications for help. No response yet. We are waiting for a loan to be funded from the governments SBA program. We’ve found the perfect boat and await the money. We are suing the insurance agent via his Errors and Omissions policy. Lawyer fees are over 6,000USD. The Biden administration isn’t funding housing for the hurricane victims. So we are living in hotels at a cost of 1,000USD per week. Life goes on and everything will work out.

The way you describe your journeys and the calmness of your presentation is a great comfort. I wish I could follow the example of owning my own boat and experiencing for myself the tranquillity of the sea but it is not to be. Michael, I cannot imagine what you have seen or experienced in your life. Our brain is so powerful, both in blocking and in opening up opportunities. Here I am, editing my video’s, trying to make them ‘glamorous’ enough for people to see them so that I hit more subscribers and views, and then you take the time to write your comment and all of the above is not important any more. Thank you. It makes me humble to see how many people from all over the world are touched by the video’s I produce and your comment adds to it. Have I already thanked you? A boat like mine is step ‘10’. Find a rowing boat, a dinghy, a canoe, a sup and feel what it does to you. For now: best wishes.

Hoi Henk, nou dat was weer gezellig zo op de zaterdag avond van de Parksluizen in Rotterdam naar de Oude Maas richting Gouda je camera's hebben goed nacht zicht en inderdaad weer leuk om te zien al die boot liften met inderdaad meer boten daar in/op heb er weer van genoten fijn weekend

Ha Henk-Jan, De stuurhuizen staan doorgaans achterop het schip omdat zij sturen met de "kont" met de hut voorop is het een stuk lastiger te overzien wat het schip doet. De mensen op "Uniqueship" zijn hier meer dan gekwalificeerd voor, zij hebben de hut voorop omdat het vaargebied voornamelijk op kanalen is, waardoor de hut eigenlijk altijd plat aan dek staat. Als die achterop zit word het varen op die wateren een veel grotere uitdaging. Groeten, Nick (de schipper wie je heeft aangemeerd bij de RDM. Zijn daar overigens nog beelden van?)

Hallo Nick!! Wat ontzettend leuk om een reactie van jou te ontvangen. De Alphenaar en Gouwenaar zijn 2 containerschepen die elke dag de Hollandsche IJssel afvaren van Alphen ad Rijn naar Moerdijk en daar staat de stuurhut traditioneel achterop. Je komt ze in een aantal van mijn filmpjes tegen. Ook ik moest inderdaad wennen aan het stuurhuis vóór nadat ik Lady Liselot had gekocht. Vwb jouw hulp bij de RDM in oktober, daar is inderdaad filmmateriaal van, maar als je weet dat bovenstaand filmpje is opgenomen op 25 april 2022, dan kan je wel raden wanneer ik de opnamen van ‘ons spontane treffen’, deel. ;-)

Always enjoy the cruise through Rotterdam, so much to see and all very interesting. Bit disappointed though there were no mishaps this episode......naughty throttle control.......illegal mooring...........prop wash challenges 😉 not a thing that deserved a shot of caffeine to steady the nerves. On the food front whilst you enjoyed your Chinese ping meal I was tucking into a Bratwurst accompanied by fried onions, mayonnaise and English mustard. Seems that between us we are not only travelling together on Lady Liselot but taking a global culinary trip at the same time. Love it. Stay safe Captain.

Nee, dat gedeelte van Nederland ken ik niet. Behalve diepgang (1,6m) moet ik ook rekening houden met vaste bruggen. Veel vaste bruggen van rond WWII, zijn 4,8m hoog en ik heb echt 5,2m nodig.

Have been living and working away from The Netherlands now for the last 25 years (Aus/NZ) and the one thing I don't miss is the weather! Keep them coming mate! It looks like a beautiful vessel, well looked after and maintained as you strike me as a bit of a perfectionist? I have been fortunate to have sailed up and down the east coast of Australia which is quite spectacular in itself, cruising the inland rivers here is something else entirely. That would be nice! Unfortunately the tunnels and bridges make that the maximum height of a boat must be under 3,5m. Lady Liselot has a height of 5,2m even with the mast down. But, but, but, perhaps after some preperations I will bring her to France, Spain, and the Med via sea. Plans are on the table to do so in a couple of years from now.

@@MVLadyLiselot It is easily possible to come down the Soane to Lyon and into the Rhône then the petit Rhône to the canal du Rhone a Sète. From Sète you can go into the med and into the canal du midi as far as Agde.

Cannot reproduce the malfunction and it only happens twice a year on the port throttle. I still can use the starboard throttle, but I was to late to act at that bridge. It’s no fun for sure.

Hoi Henk Jan, waarom verbruikt de magnetron en inductiekookplaat 40 Amp, terwijl je ze gewoon uit hebt gezet? En wat doe je dan als je het 9 min. alarm hoort?

Marco, ze gebruiken 40 watt. Dat scheelt iets. ;-) geen idee waarom dat zo is. Ik heb een Raspberrypi met Venus OS geïnstalleerd en daarop zag ik dat als ik de inductie plaat en magnetron beide via de stoppenkast uitschakelde het verbruik daalde met 40 watt. Nu heb ik alleen mijn koelkast en vriezer aan en dan is het verbruik tussen de 0 en 80 watt. Als ik inductie en magnetron niet via de stoppenkast uitschakelde, dan was dat doorgaans 40 watt meer. Het alarm meldt alleen maar dat een van beide op de stoppenkast nog ‘aan’ staan. Het is slechts een reminder. Als het alarm afgaat en ik ben klaar met koken, dan ben ik dus vergeten om de schakelaar op de stoppenkast (het zijn eigenlijk aardlekschakelaars) uit te zetten.
