Lovely ship and awesome room. Like the chilled adult areas. I wish cruising was more affordable, they like to lump on a huge single supplement if you travel solo. The Wi-Fi charges can be extortionate. Enjoy your voyage, hope the sea is smooth.

It is that bit more expensive if you're solo, which does make things trickier! Gotta find a pal to go with you, we highly recommend it. Apparently the new Princess ships have lightening fast internet for a good price as well which is cool to hear

On the newer Medallion class Princess cruise ships, they have MedallionNet which is only $9.99 a day for unlimited internet, instead of the 0.69-0.75 cents a minute they usually charge.

I proposed to my wife on Sapphire Princess in 2007, we went on our honeymoon - again on Sapphire Princess - a year later. We've also been on Diamond Princess (in 2013, virtually identical to Sapphire) and Golden Princess (in 2017, very similar to Sapphire but looking a bit worse for wear). We're a bit over Princess Cruises now... would like to try another cruise line for a change, but Sapphire Princess will always have a special place in our hearts.

I was on the Saphire Princesse a while back. (also a Kiwi) Also from Southampton but 2 weeks around the Mediterranean A lot more people when we went, pre covid. The food was incredible. It really is a huge cruise ship I'm pretty sure I got lost at least once a day and discovered something new. There were too many activities to list, magic shows, musicians, movies, fine art auctions, a huge casino, an awesome nightclub, comedy shows the list goes on. Everything was free apart from alcohol and the internet (of which you need both) You can buy an alcohol card for a fee and the internet is valuable so as to research the various ports and cities you visit on the cruise.

I have done a few cruises and balcony suits are expensive. We just go for inside cabin, any time dinning as we spend most of our time out of the cabin.

Can appreciate that point of view for sure. As our first cruise though it was special having that private balcony and somewhere to look out across the seas in your underwear in the evenings haha. Can't do that on the main deck.

@@DanegerAndStacey You guys did the right choice for your first cruise. Balcony rooms for Norway cruises are just magical as the ship slowly steams along in a fjord you can watch the angle falls while relaxing drinking wine ! I love travelling and for me a cruise is the expensive hotel that I have never booked. As we always book a central located hotel for somewhere to sleep, shower, have breakfast. For example, Barcelona we had a cheap hotel as we were out all day and paying for an expensive hotel would have just been waste of money. So a cruise ship to me was amazing treat. Loved your Scotland videos. Hopefully in the future I will get to holiday in NZ.

I was just on the Sapphire this past Feb out of Singapore...great cruise! I always go to the lectures at sea. Interesting topics. Cruising is like tapas.. a taste of each port..then you know if you want to go back for a long stay. What are your ports? Have Fun!

We just got there as early as we possibly could check in and it only took 30 minutes or so! If you wait later in the day (people traveling into town etc) it can take longer than that, similar to an airline.

Amazing! You're going to love it... the best thing is probably the food. People think the main dining hall (not the buffet) is additional, but it's not, and the quality of the food is incredible!

Depends on the cruise line. American based cruise lines such as Princess, Carnival or Royal Carribean charge in USD regardless of where they're cruising.

Going from sydney you have so many new a large ships to chose from and , they are so big massive you can get a cruise book from any travel agent ., its mind blowing you can sail for 3days or 3 weeks . The bedt part eveything is included in the price except alcohol

I sailed on the Sapphire Princess years ago. I hope it doesn't still smell like sewer. It was awful when I was on it - the public areas were horrible to be around due to it. It really turned me off of Princess (although I realize it can happen to any line, it really bothered me that nobody seemed to be doing anything about it).

ive done over 9 cruises that cruise ship looks boring... 1st off you need warm weather when sailing away... 2ndly the mood looks bluh on the ship and the boat doesn't look full... smh... dee nyc your better off flying here to the states to get a real feel of what its like...

Haha we can't control the weather man, it's a tough time of year in the UK to be leaving from, but you'll see it gets better. We also filmed this tour on the day everyone was off the ship on purpose - tryna get the shots of the ship, not errrrr-one half naked by the pool 🤣
