Hi Chris Timely video! SENA helmets, particularly the latest Mesh technology, seem to be getting better and better. I love my Shoei Neotec, but it's getting pretty old now, and I've been ready to go to a new Neotec 3. They're selling out quickly due to the demand, and after adding an SRL headset, damn spendy. Not that my brain isn't worth it, it certainly is. But, this new Impulse at $599 including the headset?!? That's half the price of the Shoei with the SRL. So, since you've ridden with both, here's the big question: How does the Shoei compare to the Impulse, particularly the quietness? Both great helmets, both with qood quality, and both with SENA headsets. I have an intermediate oval head, so the fit should be fine. Is the Impulse reasonably quiet? Tia, Clay

Remember..you get what you pay for. The Shoei is first rate with all its details..slide mechanism, sun visor mechanism smoothness, head liner materials, face shield material, face shield gasket, paint, all top quialty with a Shoei and that's what you are paying for with a Shoei.

Actually, I have not ridden with the Shoei. but Robert White does and he has tried on the Impulse but not ridden with it. He said it was lighter. I would expect the Shoei to be a half-step up from the Sena in quality, but cannot say for sure. I may be a bit quieter, but also heavier. Wish I could be of more help.

Can it charge while riding? I have a Momentum that could be charged while riding. I also wonder why they don't put the microphone in the chin bar and not on the stalk sticking out from the side.

Been really trying to find the optimum modular helmet but there are 2 deal-breakers for me and they RARELY are discussed in helmet reviews (this one included)... 1) where the bottom of the drop-down visor appears in vision and 2) where quick release buckle lays on the rider's neck. I have, so far, returned 3 different helmets because the quick release buckle rides right on the middle of my throat (adams apple area) AND the bottom of the drop-down visor is right in line of sight to the instrumentation of my bike. In other words, the visor is too short.

Were you able to easily don and remove glasses with the helmet on? I bought a Sena Impulse and loved the fit, sound, and function but returned it because I couldn't install or remove my glasses because the liner was too snug around my eyes and the eyeglass channels in the helmet seemed to be in the wrong position. Is this one glasses friendly?

I don't wear glasses, but the cheek pads do have carve outs to accommodate the temples of eyeglasses.

😊 you know on a Kawasaki 1700 2024 is it all right to run no ethanol in there cuz it says 90 octane and a no ethanol is 87 octane cuz it's just regular pure gas 100% gas

​@@cruisemansgarageyes you can charge Sena S20 Evo, S50 and such on the fly...but you can't charge on the fly with Sena headsets that are meant to be built in with Shoei Neo tec and the GT Air...not being able to charge on the fly is a big con IMO

Turns out, you CANNOT use the comms while charging. I was a little disappointed to learn this. Apparently, only the 50 series has the ability to function will running on external power.

good review video , I do have brake free and some of the helmet with even the new bigger sticker , does not always work , I have issues with my Touratech adventure helmet and my scorpion 960 helmet , work well on the Shoei... for this helmet there is some good features ... Alain & Yellow

Chris man, what is the Bluetooth sinner that is in this helmet? Like is it a 20 s sentence just Bluetooth or have they disclosed this?

Been looking for a new helmet to replace my HJC that I've had since 2008. Heck, I still my original Sena SMH5-FM headset. It works great for listening to music and taking phone calls. Do you think this new helmet would connect with my old SMH5? If so, I'd put that on my wife's helmet. She rarely rides with me, but it would be nice to be able to talk.

How is the actual fit of the Outrush helmet? Round? Oval? I am a long oval, most helmets fit a little weird.

after waiting for months waiting for the 4 th gen. S……. to come to U.S . I said the heck with it. Went across the B.C. BORDER and bought one. Probably not legal but what the heck. Yes I did ck with. insurance etc and they said no problem.😅

I do know if anyone else have this issue, I have the Impulse Helmet in the largest size they sell and my intial thoughts it did fit me pretty well but after riding with it for more than 45 minutes the fit around my temples are tight which causes pretty bad headaches. Has anyone else experienced this and has anyone found a fix for it. Thanks in advance from big headed Bob

@@bobbass9093 not sure if this applies to the impulse, but most helmet shells only come in 2 sizes. One for small, medium, large, and a larger shell for XL, 2X, 3X, etc. So, if you buy a 3X, you are essentially getting the same shell size as an XL. The various other sizes come from the interior padding.

Got one of these was in hospital so didnt use it for a yaer. When I did use it I opened the bottom vent on the chin and the button broke off. I sent mutliple emails with picturss and this company would not warranty it. They will never get my business again

There's so much wrong with this helmet. You cannot put different style shields on it. It's hard to pair with other riders and it's loud as hell!!! The built in speakers are horrible too... I wouldn't recommend this helmet unless you want to throw money away..

I have world's best helmet: Shoei. No complaints, no tech, just a comfortable helmet. Ride on!
