Absolutely spot on review in my opinion after my recent 2024 manual transmission Wing purchase. Loved my 2012 but the 2024 is simply a different level than the 2012. The ride is beyond anything I have ever experienced on a motorcycle. I could not be more pleased with my purchase, and your words of wisdom on “not waiting at this stage in life”, is the reason I bought the Bike. Best decision I have made in a long, long time. Thank you ! Amazing ride!

I am 76yrs old, have owned 28-motorcycles. Currently own 4 bikes. Planning on purchasing a Goldwing this week to do long trips. Haven’t decided if I am going with the tour model but plan on getting the manual shift. I like having control of my rpm and shifting. I ride a Hayabusa which is crazy quick and have couple dual sports. Have raced sport bikes on track but looking for something more comfortable for touring. Not as young as I once was.

Improvements needed. Seating comfort, Bluetooth system, info screen needs to be touch screen, top loading saddle bags, horn button improvement, larger windscreen. GPS system is fine for me. I never ever plan a trip for GPS. It’s only used for gas stations, motels, or specific locations for the area I’m in. Just my 2 cents worth, please spend it wisely.😀

I have owned my 2018 DCT airbag for over 5 years and do not think Honda have made enough significant changes to make me consider using up to a later model yet. The larger trunk is not an issue for me and cant really think of any other improvements that would make me think Wow i gotta trade up

I own a 2018 and there is absolutely nothing that the 2024 has over my 2018 except for the larger trunk..the color choice is horrible with these new models..I love the Pearl White, but hate the two tone look that Honda is doing with the 2024. Honda is going have to do a serious upgrade before I would be willing to spend the money and trade my 2018 for a newer Gold Wing.

Good Evening Cruiseman, this is a great video, especially for someone considering buying a Goldwing. The only issue I noticed is at time 18:46 when you are talking about the brakes being Anti-Lock and the text says Analog. This just proves I do pay attention when viewing your productions. The suspension is definitely under-sprung and under-damped, especially for heavy drivers and really bad with a pillion aboard. I will accept the bike technology is getting long in the tooth, but I do wish it had Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, a saddle deserving of this long hauler, center glove compartment lock, center glove compartment ventilation, right cubby needs a manual override a more reliable Apple Play and finally Honda engine builders would set the correct valve train gaps on the cylinders 1-3-5. If Honda does incorporate these systems, we will be looking at a bike with a price exceeding $35K. Thanks again for sharing your Goldwing experience with us.

Hello… been watching and following your adventures. Between you, GoldRyderOne, Chris Caliente and others…. Got the itch for the newer wing. So, I pulled the trigger on a 2018 Snowee (named mine; Prince, as wifey’s X5 is named Princess, both white in color!) for myself just last Wednesday, July 30 2024. Traded my 2nd 128k Goldwing (2008) I had for last 6 years in black for a nicely set up Beautiful Pearl White 2018 DCT Tour from a dealer in Madison South Dakota. Just above Sioux Falls. Rode mine 600 miles from the Chicago area … did the deal and rode back on the new bike. Wow. What a sore butt adventure! Did not figure out CarPlay until I got back home! Was a setting I changed from iPod to CarPlay then Bingo! Yes. I did buy a new white helmet with a Cardo built in too ~ few days before. But the Honda GPS did the job just fine. Got compliments at fuel stops. Lot of folks heading to Sturgis that week. Mine had lots of GoldStrike LED trunk lights, license plate filler lights, plate light, a CB, highway pegs, tie down supports, wired ports for cabled helmets with a Bluetooth gadget in the phone compartment and I believe the original seat was removed and professionally stuffed with a gel pad or something as it is not flat like other stock seats. Mine is more puffed and rounded. Oh, yes the storage is much smaller... knew that going into this model. But, since I ride by myself, not much of a hassle ...yet!!! Next day at home I went to a dealer near me and added a GoldStrike BigAss cup holder and a brake pad cover for a larger target down there. I used to have floor boards on old bike… but ok with stock pegs on this one. Seems easier to flat foot at stops. Stock windscreen is OK but might get F4 eventually. Had 42100 miles on it and already put about 1000 on it already. What better way to get used to it, buy it and immediately set off for home on the Interstate for 600 miles! I am 5’10’ and 66 years old. So this DCT is very interesting. Still reaching for the clutch at odd times! Plus the bike is a bit more bouncy than the 08 but does not bother me. Smooth on good roads. Certain local roads has 'wavy' pavement and that is where it bounces a lot! One thing from Honda I would like to see is when I am in CarPlay (Waze for example) is for the INFO button to keep its information on the screen so if I am listening to the radio - see what station I am on and band. Or the other info I scroll through. Now, after a week of ownership - kind of stopped reaching for a clutch. I also like to keep it around town in ECON mode, Smoother throttle response. The front end is nice with its new suspension. Very easy to flatfoot it around in neutral, like out of the garage. Bike does seem smaller from my perspective in the seat while riding, handling like a dream and i feel somehow safer as I can control it better. So happy with it. Got it for a good price… can’t complain. glad your 2024 is coming along. Cheers.

I have a 2022 DCT. I like the bike, but it does have some shortcomings that, at this price point, and considering the competition, Honda committed an unforced error. The Goldwing is considered the standard bearer, king of the road, but some other bikes are catching up. The infotainment system is like you said, "come on"? Why would Honda scrimp on that? Maintenance is a nightmare in most instances. Even an oil change is more complicated than most. And don't get me started on changing an air filter. Sheesh! And with the new ECM flash available, we all know there is a lot more power to be easily had to keep it competitive. Also, Honda keeps gangling carrots out there about upcoming upgrades they may happen. Like a 2 liter motor, connectivity/infotainment system improvements, new body styling, and adaptive cruise control. All of which I'm waiting for before I consider a trade-in. Thanks Chris.

But as Max from Traxxion already mentioned, don't replace your Airfilter as to the Honda recommendation. Every 50.000 miles is enough unless you're driving in very rainy or dusty environment. Financially , You might have thought about waiting for a new updated model. Looks just like a 2018. I have popped a wheelie on my 2020 Goldwing in sport mode. Unlike you, I put around 20,000 miles a year on my Goldwing in a stable of 7 motorcycles. Ride safe.

More a self promotional and product review video than a comprehensive comparison of the 2018 vs 2024. I have a 2018 and learned nothing from this video. I saw no real comparison, or anything that compared the two years at all. Essentially a misleading video and a waste of time. If you are going to talk about whether it's worth trading up, at least be specific, otherwise it's clickbait and I will be less inclined to view your vidoes in the future.

@felixlechat1780 I did? You obviously don't know how Honda works. And, nobody would put this much work into a video for a measly $500.

Tim, he did mention the trunk is bigger (a big selling point for many), the colors are different, and the DCT shifts smoother. If you were looking for massive differences well, thank you Honda, there are just not very many. That is the comparison. Maybe we will see some big changes with the anniversary edition in 2025.
@timothyburkett86224 ай бұрын
@@robertwhitemoto The problem is it's a video typical of the spammy junk self proclaimed "influencers" spew on the internet. If it was labeled as a review of the 2024 Goldwing (which it was) I'm ok with that. It was dishonest in it's intent and presentation. Starting out with "I traded my 2018 for a 2024 blah, blah. Then promoting his "sponsors" and then launching into a tedious review of the 2024 Goldwing. Then wrapping up with was it worth it? ABSOLUTLY! No reason why, just wierd.

Re Nav/tech; IMO simply having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is all that is required. A cubby with a USB-C to store and tether a phone is all that I would ever want. Then the motorcycle OEM would only have to supply a nice looking, large, and bright screen leaving out AM/FM, and GPS. Also, touring riders tend to use helmet speakers and not the onboard speakers. A delete option would be welcome. No radio, no amplifier, no speakers and their magnets, no GPS receiver and all the associated wiring would save a lot of weight. Time for e-suspension on this motorcycle.

Excellent script. Excellent delivery. Most professional, intelligent youtuber out there. My recommends on GW going forward. 1. Cut 50 pounds of weight, with lighter weight materials, more clever engineering by those smart mechanical design engineers. 2 Industry leading infotainment, navigation, screen. 3. Better, softer seating. 3. Increase engine compression probably to about 11.5: 1 or so, to get more horsepower / torque. 4. Wider / taller wind screen. Basically my list above follows what CG said in the video, give or take.

Interesting but I don't see any reason to sell my 2003. Most important reason: $38K here (plus taxes) for a motorcycle! Ain't gonna happen with 3 months riding season here.

with your video about the Indian, I traded in my 2018 Gold wing on a new Indian persuit. i do miss the reverse. but for me it is a lot more comfortable to ride even with a stock seat. i feel like it has more power as well. i dont understand why you call the fit and finish so good on the GW its all plastic like most other bikes. i would argue that the indian attention to detail and fit and finish is better. also why did you get another GW with all the complains about the infotainment system? is it because you are getting endorsements from venders who support the GW? seems like you really liked the Indian.

Parking brake same model from 4 yrs ago although you know they wear out easy, the antenna still doesn't pickup AM/FM well, Bluetooth 5.0 with quick reliable connections has been available for half a decade, yet it sounds like we passed on that. Seats don't resist scuffing on a bike designed to resist tossing a leg around the back. Old version of traction control. Dirty installed dash protector creating warranty repairs, how do they not know? Dude! when you're going for a BS degree or making dirt-bikes you can "phone it in". At the Master's lever asking for the biggest pot of money on your "flagship" wannabe, you need to hire some engineers AND listen to them. Adaptive Cruise does not belong in the list of "called-in" items because many don't trust it. If they add that is should be a cost option so we don't have to pay for it. It also should be easy to turn it off and not turn itself back on till the rider does it. I'm split on seat comfort, many buyers don't like to pay more for better seats. Maybe a well advertised cost option for upgrade might help.
