Is Crystal Cruises Crystal Serenity As Good As It Used To Be?

My parents have been loyal to Crystal since they first sailed with them in 2005. They had a Hawaiian cruise booked for later in the spring of 2022 - their first big trip since before the pandemic. They had already made their final payment, but they got their money back easily. They tried another luxury cruise line last fall and were not impressed. They are booked on a Crystal cruise early in 2024 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and are really looking forward to it. When your post-cruise review is up I will be sure to share it with them.

I will be eagerly awaiting to hear what you think. I"m a past guest booked for May in a solo cabin (the solo supplement was awesome!) I , like you, have wonderful memories of past Crystal cruises, and have been asking myself this same question. I am very encouraged by everything i hear so far but i know you will give us the honest opinion. So excited, too!

I have sailed on bigger ships before, but am planning a mid-size to small ship cruise with my family for next year and we are considering Crystal. We are really curious about a few things... 1) How is the personal service? What is the passenger-staff ratio and how well taken care of is each passenger? 2) How is the food? We are looking for really good food. 3) How is the entertainment and enrichment? We are looking for a cruise with a lot of educational lectures and seminars related to the places we will be sailing.

I had my first Crystal cruise booked for April 2023 when they went bankrupt. I had to go through my CC company to get my deposit back. They now send me emails frequently but I’m not sure I want to try, maybe in the future. I will be interested to see your videos!

I was excited to hear about your review of the new Crystal. Frankly, the number of times you said, "I think...," "I believe...," "Don't quote me if my memory is a little off" was disheartening. Certainly, if you're planning a review, you could write a script or outline, and do your viewers the courtesy of homework and fact checking. Your uncertainty with your history gave me the same uncertainty. And while I very much appreciate the fact that you disclosed that you were invited on this itinerary by the company, my skepticism about your objectivity in any review was heightened. You have other competitors in the cruise review space who do not accept free cruises as a basis for a video, and therefore hold more weight for me when it comes to opinions about their experiences. BTW, A&K is owned by the same gay from Monaco (Manfredi d'Ovidio) who owned Silversea before he sold it to Royal Caribbean.
