That is a pretty common royal thing for the king and queen (or queen and prince in this case) to sleep in separate bedrooms. It is actually a great idea that I plan to implement in my own home when I start building. It is for 2 busy people, so you don't wake the other person when coming to bed late, or needing to get up early in the morning. It doesn't mean they will always sleep separately, they just have the option.

Those Corgi-plushies all over the place are a nice touch - and just adorable. And in addition a convenient way of getting close-to-accurate without having actual dogs aboard at all times and all the hassle that would come with that.

such a great tour thanks for taking us along The Queen came here to Chicago on her Great Lakes tour. Only stayed a few hours, had dinner with city and state officials, broke a tooth and had to find a local dentist that was still in his office, and sailed away. Big argument later bewteen city and state as to who was going to pick up the tab for the dinner.

What a beautiful ship . I would imagine to get this duty it was a privilege. Remember seeing pictures from around the world on the news over the years of different family trips. Also remember seeing pictures of the queen with her children young and the staff making a slide down the stairs for the older kids and adults to have fun and seeing the pool for the kids too. Seemed like the staff really enjoyed doing this for and with the kids. I would imagine family vacations were very special away from the public eyes were they could be themselves. Susan

I am ex RN and in 1975 I think it was I was asked if I would like to be drafted to the Royal Yacht, I was surprised to be asked as opposed to being told,but I later found out one could not be drafted on you could refuse it,which I did,because I had heard promotion was very slow because very few of the crew drafted off the yacht.I often think I should have taken up the chance ,not for the royals, but I liked the look of the engine room and crew messes.
@setholson6550
@setholson6550 Жыл бұрын
@@khutt19 I could definitely understand why folks stay so long on that assignment. Wouldn’t imagine it would go out that often either maybe a couple times a year? Probably a wonderful tour for married staff members that lived in the area. I would think the staff on board would have to sign a non disclosure form to so they didn’t try and sell a story to the press or right a book. I remember seeing some old home movies of Charles and Ann as toddlers and little ones the staff making a slide on the deck for them and playing with them seemed the sailors were enjoying the kids. Can only imagine who got stuck cleaning up the dog mess on deck. I imagine you were young at this time and this probably sounded like duty for your moms age folks looking back with age I know I would have made a couple of different choices but then who knows I would probably have missed on the life I did have as you would have also. Never will know if you might have be involved in something that would have made it on to the show the crown? Deepest condolences on the loss of your queen. She was a great lady. Can’t wait to see what King Charles does. Best wishes, susan
