I really hope it was an old spice on those biscuits with crab meat you had please tell me it was old bay because old spice is perfume. Old bay is crab seasoning, though JO is better. I prefer my own old bay is practically salt and cayenne pepper. I've been making spices in eating all that having crabs since I was so young I'm from Maryland born and raise the home of old bay. Maryland crab is the best Maryland crab soup, Maryland crab everything anything with old bay is Maryland crab.

The problem with some of the Caribbean ports is the deprivation. Some of the areas that cruise ships dock in are really beautiful but are all for tourists and not the actual residents. When we were on Freedom of the seas we docked at Kingston in Jamaica and it was beautiful, but when we were leaving we seen the kids on the rooftops begging for food, just feet away from Diamond shops and tourists spending thousands on jewels... It really made me rethink my priorities in life

When the children in Roatan asked me for a dollar, 4 children asking me for money. I felt bad but had non intention of shelling out money at that excursion. smh I guess they learn to hustle and hassle real young on these islands.

I get what you are saying, but if tourist didn't come to the islands, would any of those people's lives be better for it. Maybe? or does the tourism supply some of them jobs, opportunities, etc. I know it's hard to see some of that stuff, but if I wouldn't be able to function if I had to worry about every thing/every body else in the world. I'm allowed some happiness.

A family member who is a nurse practitioner, saved a man’s life when someone fell on the ice and the person behind him couldn’t stop and sliced one of his arteries while trying to jump over him. She was able to stem the flow until emergency services arrived, but it was traumatizing. So David, your freaking out over the blades is not far-fetched. They can be dangerous.

The word “deviled” is a culinary term that means “adding spices” - usually hot ones like cayenne pepper, Dijon mustard, or chopped chili peppers - to foods like ham, eggs, turkey, or even lobster.

I always look forward to Sundays because I know they'll be a new vlog from Ben & David. I've cruised into Nassau as well as flown in to stay for several days. Flying in really gives you a true taste of the island, and it's absolutely wonderful. Since tourism is very important to their economy, I have to wonder if the uptick in people bothering you to buy, buy, buy has to do with the hard times people experienced during covid. Just a thought. Meanwhile, I loved your first experience with southern food especially the deviled eggs and the deep fried Oreos. Your description of all the food never fails to put a big smile on my face. Thank you for another very well done vlog!

My only comment would I been going to Nassau for about 15 years and I feel bad for the people in Nassau that they are struggling, but constantly being harassed has been going on way before Covid, the city really needs to do something about it , such a beautiful island !.

This is a great video. We are going on our first cruise later this year. It's a little different, it's a metal festival on a ship. We are stopping at Nassau so watching this has been really helpful. I have to say I discovered your videos a couple of days ago and both me and my husband are loving them. You are very informative and entertaining. I get the feeling we might go on more cruises in the future. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. 😊

Had no problems walking around Nassau port area as a solo female cruiser. Took normal precautions of wearing a money belt and anti theft waist pack, which I wear anywhere including the US. I recommend visiting the Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation to get the history of what colonialism and exploitation has done to the Caribbean islands. It’s right there in the downtown area and costs just a few dollars. Many atrocities have been hidden out of sight from the American and British public all these years.

You two made my day, again! I laughed till I almost cried. You both so funny, naturally, and your dialogue is perfect. Ben's one liners are classic, and David adds his own character flair with a smile that matches Ben's wit. Very informative and honest. And yes, Ben's Mum, is a joy in so many ways. Bravo! As one who has no family, you both make my KZbin visits meaningful. I will probably take the next cruise alone but hope to find amazing personalities on the ship like you two. Thanks for all you do, for all of us!

Lived in Nassau for 6 years (we did mission work on the south side of the island) and spent a LOT of time at the port/downtown area with mission teams. That resort that they just built makes me so sad. (Chinese built---long story behind that...so sad for the Bahamian people). Anyway, yes it is a dangerous port. As for the port building, when we first moved there, the old port building was being used but closed about a year after we arrived. It has not been opened since..true to Bahamian fashion (takes forever to get things done). Anyway, it was fun seeing your video of Nassau since I am very familiar with that area. :-)
@mgzayas2 жыл бұрын
I must agree with you....I think this big resorts are taking away from the Bahamian people. I used to love the straw Market before it caught fire years ago. I cried from Miami, seeing that area burnt down. It took a long time to rebuilt. Really I never felt affraid walking on the Main Street and shopping....Thanks Ben and David for a new look at Nassau that I have never seen....it was so much fun...

The first time we were in nassau...we thought we'd walk to some touristy place after walking around the straw market and about half way to our destination the police stopped us and told us to hop on the nearest city bus back to the port as we were entering a dangerous neighborhood. We did as suggested and at lunch back at the ship and took a taxi to Atlantis to look around but I'd say I have absolutely no urge to return.

I went to the Port of Nassau during a Disney Cruise I took when I was 12 (literally the only cruise I've ever been on.) We walked around for a few minutes and turned right back to the ship. Margaritaville looks absolutely marvelous!! I was in Nassau last month and was very sad about how beat up the port area including the main shopping Bay Street looked. With the new construction plans going on I really hope they do a facelift to Bay Street and some of the side streets nearby as well. It really was unimpressive right now I’m sad to say.

We have been to Nassau several times and it can be a dodgy place, one of those places you never keep anything in your pockets and don’t get in any crowds where people are close enough to touch you. It’s sad because the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island is very pretty and has an amazing aquarium. As always love your videos and you guys. I really didn’t mind Nassau. It was the first port I ever visited on my first cruise in 2017. My partner and I just said, “No thanks,” to the folks selling stuff or offering rides and weren’t bothered further. We walked down the main road outside the port to Junkanoo beach that looks towards the port, and spent several hours there in some amazing water. We also tried Pirate Republic Brewing which was awesome.

Enjoyed myself during port day in Nassau this past fall. I love historical sites so I went off beaten path and took walk to Fort Charlotte. Met a local who was on his lunch break and he showed me the way. We had great conversation about us going to rival universities (Ohio State and Michigan). Picked up a coconut from a street vendor and got some conch fritters. The Fort was closed but I still explored the grounds and got to talk to some interesting people.

We have been to Nassau on many of our cruises and we love it. We've done something different almost every time. We love the market and walking around the town and we've tried conch fritters at local bars and enjoy all the shopping. We did an history Nassau bus tour once that ended with a rum factory tour. I don't understand why people say it's a terrible port. But we saw another cruise blogger spend the day at Margaritaville and are looking forward to going there on our next tour that goes to Nassau. Thanks for this! I love watching you guys!

Wow! One of my last cruises, pre-COVID, was on the Carnival Sunshine, with a stop in Nassau. I was with a first-time cruiser, but I have been to Nassau many times. This was December 2019, pre-Margaritaville, but we still found lots to do and had a wonderful time! Yes, vendors can be aggressive. But we've never had any real trouble and we've walked everywhere. Our favorite place to spend the day is Cabbage Beach, which is free. I know Nassau is not "new" and fancy (although the Margaritaville Resort certainly changes things), but I've been to ports that are far less enjoyable with far less to offer (La Romana, I'm talking to you!). So glad you had a good time, even if you didn't get out and explore. Frankly, I'm looking forward to visiting the resort next time I visit!

Glad I did not believe the haters and got off the ship and did my own walking tour. Get away from the port! That area is chaos. I love your videos. Especially the food part because that’s what cruising is all about really. I was on the carnival legend in Nassau on my birthday March 31, 2022. And I remember all the ships in Port, was that when you were there? I don’t think so because you did put this out on the third. But how exciting it would’ve been to think that we were in Nassau at the same time. Keep up the good work! Oh you know we tried to get tickets for Margaritaville online and they were sold out. We ended up having to take a long cab ride to Breeze‘s. But that was still nice because the food and the drinks were all inclusive for like 104 bucks. And everything was really good.
