I really wish you would create more content. You are a significant distance above the majority of narrowboat vloggers. I appreciate sharing your cruising with me in Alaska.

Thanks Gary, that's much appreciated. I've been incredibly busy in recent months and haven't had much time for vlogging, so apologies for that. When I put a blog out I invest a huge amount of time and effort into it, to try to give the best viewing experience. I don't want to churn poor quality weekly videos out, even though producing a weekly video would grow my channel. I've been on the K&A for about nine months but will be setting off on my travels again at the end of June, so I expect more content will be appearing from July onwards.

Nice bit of floating to start the day.. always a great way to start the day. Spring is trying to melt all the snow and ice here. The path along the house to the outhouse is now free of ice. Had and Ermine under the house a week ago. Saw the first butterfly of the year. Haven’t heard any geese yet. I’m ready for spring at least mentally.
@talesfromtheswansneck2 жыл бұрын
Glad you finally got out of the grip of winter, it must make you feel a whole lot better. Spring is in full swing here, all the trees bathed in fresh green leaves and the wildlife frisky or with new young.

@@talesfromtheswansneck mosquitoes have also started to surface. Theses first ones are very slow so not too bad. Green leaves are still at least a week away. Maybe longer. So nice to be out side and feel warm sunshine.

Well now. I haven’t got a boat, but I’ve walked that section from Bath to Dundas, so I know how beautiful it really is. You had lovely weather too. It’s very pretty around there. Thanks for the memories.

Hi again Kev, it was filmed last September. I haven't seen any cygnets yet, only ducklings this year.

I first watched one of your videos , in early March this year ( I think it was the 2nd). I was moored at Muirhill near AvonCliff, when you passed me going west. I was out filling my coal bucket for the evening. Later that evening, I had a suggestion on YT to watch your latest release, which I clicked on. It was only whilst watching that I realised that the distinctive bow that had come towrad me earlier was the boat in the video! Coincidence? I doubt it. I'm pretty sure the suggestion algorithms use geolocation to find out people in your area! Anyway, we crossed paths several times since, I think last time was in BoA. I'm up in Devizes now heading east for the Thames eventually. Cheers Pete on CAT.
@talesfromtheswansneck2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete, so you're the guy on Cat. I first noticed your boat on the moorings by Crofton Locks. I think I've seen it on Instagram too. Yeah who knows what info these Silicon Valley peeps have on us! Anyway, you're a bit ahead of me, I think I'll be heading back to the Thames in about 6 weeks.

Wouldn't it be nice if we can use the entire width of the canal as it was intended.. instead of a quarter or half of it. Last year was the busiest the canals have been apart from back in the day this year will probably outdo it. it would be nice to be able to travel without having to pull in every two seconds to let somebody passed because of reeds or trees...

I've got to say this stretch of canal is incredibly busy. Equals the Llangollen.

One of the most amazing times I have had with my mate on his bout was on this stretch of canal he was moored at avoncliff and One evening we st off to cruise to dundas, went over it to the winding hole some 3 miles towards Bath, turned around and headed back to avoncliff, trouble was that by the time we got back to dundas it was pitch black @!, its a long way back to avoncliff in the dark ha ha, very memorable for all the wrong reasons
@talesfromtheswansneck2 жыл бұрын
I've never done a night cruise yet, I'm told it's fun. But I can imagine the bit between Dundas and Avoncliffe is a bit dodgy in the dark. But like you say, it was memorable!

Hi Jasper, by the drill I guess you mean the colourful spiral. It was a mobile which hung in my youngest son's bedroom, I just thought it would be a colourful decoration that's all.
