A nice review of an obstructed cabin. Great to see the actual "obstruction"! My wife prefers a balcony for the fresh air which this would do fine, if you did not plan on sitting out much say on a cool cruise.

I thought some cabins had tubs on the Queens?

The princess and queens grills have tubs. Not the steerage cabins like this one!😅

@travelswiththecontessa5307 as a tub lover and shower hater, bummer. But I suppose I'd shower for a cabin on a Cunard Queen. But I would probably grouch about it while taking a shower.

Alot of people book obstructed view cabins early and research where the lifeboats are. There are quite a few with a decent view. If you book late or agree to an inside upgrade then you have to accept this might happen. Personally, I'd take an inside over this, especially on a winter transatlantic!

Do you think US$1100 per person for an 8-day voyage from the United Kingdom to NYC is too much?

You can get two one-way tickets from London to NYC for $600.

@@Boiledchickenleg Right now? Definitely not when we were looking to travel back in October - one-way economy class tickets this last-minute (three weeks before traveling) were selling for $1500 each at the cheapest! But also, the we actually enjoy dressing up for dinner and dancing in a ballroom every night (this fair includes all meals, all entertainment and activities, and five-star hotel service).

@thecreativecontessa oh if it includes all the meals, then it is worth it!
