So relaxing, a wonderful vibe, and such a good video to showcase that part of Puget Sound.

@@Letsgochannelsurfing it was great to meet you as well. We enjoy your videos a lot. Both the travel ones like this and the more detailed ones explaining the changes you're making to the boat or how you've set things up and why.

Nice to see Skyline Marina. I've only ever operated in and out of Cap Sante when in Anacortes.

Another very interesting video. Great camera work and video editing. I noticed you got fuel one time, what is the cruise range with the outboard? Looking forward to you making a trip up to Alaska.
@Letsgochannelsurfing2 жыл бұрын
Cruising range varies a lot with the tides/current and waves. Technically, it’s a 147 gallon fuel tank. I plan on about 150 miles between fill ups. If I slow down to 8 knots or less, I can stretch that distance by a lot. Cruising is around 1.4mpg, slow boating is between 2 and 4 mpg.

Re wiring? Lithium upgrade? Those projects must be still with the editing dept. With all of your solar capacity, why did you go to lithium? Thanks for sharing the boat ride. You like to go to my favorite places.

Thanks for watching! The LFP video is currently in the making... I do have some preliminary information about the upgrade published on our web site. www.letsgochannelsurfing.com/lithium

When did they put the dock in? I was just there last June.
@Letsgochannelsurfing2 жыл бұрын
We first pulled into Deception Pass state park in January and the dock was in. BUT, you couldn't walk to shore as the brow was closed/under construction. We made it back in March (this trip in this video) and you could get to shore, but walking around/over the construction, still not done. We were there again last weekend. More progress made, but still not done. But we were able to easily walk to shore over the plywood they laid down as the concrete hadn't been poured yet. It's an awesome dock though. We will be using it a lot this boating season. A great place to park for the night waiting for Deception Pass current to slow to 4knots or less.

How do you guys rotate the camera mounted on your bow rail? Thanks
@Letsgochannelsurfing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! The camera doesn't rotate. Its' a GoPro Max 360 camera. It's a very unique camera. As a 360 camera, on the boat I just turn it on and turn it off. I don't point the camera in any direction as it records in all directions. I take the footage off the SD card and have to run it through GOPro's software to "frame" the video. This is where I look at all that was captured and I pan the camera around to look at this... then look over there... then look backwards... Once re-framed, I output that into a normal MP4 video that I give to LaZina who uses that mp4 in our videos. So it takes extra work to get the footage off it. But it lets us capture action on the boat that we otherwise wouldn't be ale to. It's also a 1080P camera (pay little attention to their marketure). It doesn't zoom in very well. Rumor has it, a new Go Pro Max 360 is due out this year. I'm waiting patiently as I'll be buying the GoPro Max2 as soon as it's released. The 360 camera has been fantastic for us filming on the boat. I've been asked a lot about this in the past couple of weeks. We're going to do a short video in the next week or so to go over how the camera mounts on the boat and how it works. It's not for everybody, and it's not for every situation. We have other cameras we use as well. Great question, by the way.

According to hull tests mpg is much better at or above 4,500 rpm. Can you confirm?
@Letsgochannelsurfing2 жыл бұрын
If you haven't had a chance, check out this video. At the 4:56 minute mark I show a spreadsheet of performance using the 3 blade (factory) as well as a 4 blade after-market prop, with actual MPG and performance stat's on Channel Surfing. The factory configuration with a 3 blade prop, the boat generally needs to be above 4200RPM or below 2100RPM for the best fuel efficiency. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHO1Yml8fdeMebM

did you add more solar? looked like some flex panels on rooftop.

Nope. Just have the 2x200 watts up top. Rigid panels.

I have ordered an 2023 R-27. I wonder how sea worth R-27 is. In addition to cruise ICW, how far would you be comfortable at taking it off shore? Thank you!

Thanks for watching!! My insurance policy, and my gas tank both say "75 miles offshore, no further". These are intercostal cruisers, not open ocean trawlers.
