I absolutely love your creative spirit and the very inspirational journey you guys have shared with us. It is truly soothing and relaxing to just watch how you experience your life and show us the world. I lived in California for a few years, and you bring me a lot of great memories. As someone who has been struggling with overwhelming work and fear to quit and get to adventures again, you inspire me to make that transition. I am just getting goosebumps from sharing this with you. Sending you much love, safe adventures and wishing you the best :)

The drive along that stretch of coast is stunning, I would say it was bucket list worthy. I drove it on 911, a sad day to be experiencing such beautiful sights.

Thank you for sharing your adventures. As you went from Alaska to California, you sure see nature completely changing from forest rich mountains to flat, desert like coasts.

As for the crab pots off Half Moon Bay...yes, you have to keep a look out even when it is not Dungeness season. For one, there is a rock crab fishery that goes year round. Also, there are many abandoned/lost pots out there. There was a good program for few years that paid commercial fishermen to bring back lost pots. Then the rightful owners could pay to get them back...a win-win for all. However, I am not sure if that program is still going on. I haven't heard about it for a few years now. With the amount of gear out here during the season and a certain percentage that go missing for various reasons it leaves a lot out there.

How long did it take you to cruise from San Francisco dock to Monterey Bay dock?
@CruisingSeaVenture2 жыл бұрын
We were docked about 34 hours cruise from the Golden Gate Bridge. From the bridge to Half Moon Bay, where we anchored for a night, was about 3 hours. From there to Monterey was about 9 more hours. Thanks, Jim

Miss Blake and Barkley. Why did you leave them behind?
@CruisingSeaVenture2 жыл бұрын
We were just going to be down at the boat for a month moving it from San Francisco to Ensenada. For the short trip we decided they could stay in the northwest. When we leave Ensenada at the end of the year they’ll be with us. Thanks, Jim

When you’re at anchor do you switch out the fish on the paravanes and put on a flat flopper stopper?
@CruisingSeaVenture2 жыл бұрын
We do not, because we do not have them. We thought about it, and I checked with a couple of companies that make them and they both said out outriggers are too far out and our boat is too big / heavy for them. They said the force created would be enough to bend or damage the flopper stoppers. So for now, we just leave the paravanes in. They work quite well at anchor as well. Thanks, Jim

@@CruisingSeaVenture thanks for the explanation. Glad they work as is.
