Wonderful. You know if you keep spoiling us with v'log that both entertains us and relaxes us we're going to expect it all the time. I'm so jealous of whoever owns that house on the canal bend. weeping willows hanging down, smooth canal, water views, and a lovely home too. This is the second time I recall you followed a canal to it's end and both were worth the trip, in my opinion. Thank You for sharing.

I've considered that but three hours of 4K footage would render out to a 55GB file which would take literally hours to render and hours to upload. Unfortunately also there was some nasty buzzing on the sound at certain points (something resonating at certain engine revs) which rather spoils the recording too.

Hi David. The Ashby was our first venture out after we'd moved aboard, and although I love to "big up" our home canal (the cov), as you and many others have documented the cov is so heavily urban in places we kind of adopted the Ashby as our home stretch. Beautiful canal, wonderful cruising. We just love the place.

Hi David, Excellent footage of the Ashby canal, lovely coverage as always. Before the local 'backlash' begins, and I'm sure I fall foul of this when I am not local to certain areas, the village in Leicestershire on the Ashby canal you visited in this vlog, namely Shackerstone, is pronounced by the locals as 'Sha - ker - stun'. Talking colloquialisms, if you forget something when you go out in Leicestershire, and need to return home to retrieve it you will hear the phrase, 'slatternipumferit' (obvious when you know that everything said in Leicester by the 'Chissits' is compressed - 'I shall have to nip home for it')... the joys of cruising and meeting folk.

I love all of you VLOGS -- discovered them about two weeks ago and have now gone through all of them. I can't comment or like/dislike though as I watch them on my ROKU and that feature is not there. You said in one of the recent ones that you changed your mind about buying a new boat. I'm so happy to hear that. I thought you were crazy to get rid of the boat you have. You've put so much money into new parts, so much work cleaning the places we can't see and removing rust. Why buy another used boat and have to go through all of that again. If you do buy a new one one day it should be just that -- a brand new one! One question I have is when you use the word "pound" apparently referring to water. What does "pound" mean in this usage? Is it what we in the U. S. call a "pond."? Finally, I watched your Vandemonium VLOGS also -- I can't believe I could actually sit and watch you work on the van. I was totally surprised. I loved it and am amazed at the wonderful work you do -- so meticulously.
@CruisingTheCut5 жыл бұрын
I haven't decided not to, I've just put it off for the moment as I don't have the money to get the boat I want and I wanted to go cruising. A pound in this context is just a large body of water between two locks.

Lovely video, but , part of the cursing experience is the sound of the engine and sounds in general. The camera in the bow is right ON. My suggestion is for a camera in the pilots station on a tall mast, easy enough to put the Audio from it into the video. I think it would be super.
@CruisingTheCut5 жыл бұрын
A tall mast would get ripped off every time I go under a bridge so not practical. The handheld camera at the back picks up the engine noise, the one at the front us true to how it sounds there.
