Join me at Olsany Cemetery in Prague, Czech Republic. We'll see around 200 mausoleums, amazing sculptures, some famous Czech graves, exposed remains (ashes), and you can hear me murder the Czech language. This is a big one!

Wow this is most interesting, i love it 😍. It’s so different then anything I’ve seen before. They do look abandoned, the police taped one apparently they were or are doing some sort investigation on something. I’m just enthralled here. Feel like I’m in a woods if not for some city sounds. Golden Jesus is amazing. Gosh I can’t even think what to say. Just loved it 😍 thanks for taking us heck I don’t care about the rest of them, thanks for taking me along 😂 JK. I could stay there for hours

The big mouselium is my great grandparents and other family, i haven't been there since 1976 because I live in the U S. Greetings from Prague. Unfortunately, the cemetery is neglected - there is no money for renovations, you can even buy tombs with corpses, or donate online for renovations. Since these are very old graves, the survivors are also no longer alive, so the graves of famous personalities can also be purchased. This cemetery is also the site of occult séances. They even buried countless mummified cats in empty graves, I think it was some vet who got rid of the bodies like this and kept the owners' fees for the rendering. Those two-story tombs are also for sale, with coffins on top. When you come here again, I can show you around other interesting cemeteries :)

To buy and sell a grave or a mozillam that's been used? That's absolutely horrible. Although they have passed away they are still human beings and deserve respect. And I'm sure they paid for those accommodations in advance. This is definitely the 1st time I've heard many countries allowing such a thing.

Fascinating video. I spent time in Germany in the 80s and 90s and visited many cemeteries similar to this one. Some of those mausoleums apart from being grand old buildings, some are still used and well looked after. Some of the deeply religious folk who are still alive and have family members in mausoleums visit and pray next to the crypt or urns hence the knee rests on the ground. The decrepit mausoleums usually belong to families that have all since passed on, and no longer looked after unless the town council has funds to do so. The example of the mausoleum with the bedsheets and broken front, wouldn't surprise me if this was grave robbers who knew the family were once wealthy, so go looking in what's left of the coffins below in the family crypt in the hope of finding rings and jewellery.

I love these films about the dead and their resting places, as a kid my playground was the local church yard where so many ancestors were buried, never worried me, it was just a garden full of people I loved whether I had lived with them or not. When watching these kind of videos, I think that my problems that I face now in life are insignificant in the great scheme of things. I'm not an expert on this, but in the States it's become common practice to permanently seal mausoleums once the remaining family passes. This isn't always the case, especially in cemeteries that are still highly active and are being maintained but even in those, staff may choose to permanently seal a mausoleum that meets the above criteria and is continually being broken in to and desecrated. I would assume that is the case here as well.

Should people spend their income on maintaining a mosoleum instead of their live family? It is always easy to spend someone else's money. Their memories have already been artificially extended. Now we all know they exist and it is preserved on film.

around here in dayton, ohio, there's the mausoleum of 'the last gypsy king of dayton.' they say if you see any dead birds or bags you think are trash to not touch them, it's some gypsy thing. of course, i think there's a curse attached to it if you do. i'd imagine this place is full of things like that.

Wow with all those beautiful and not so beautiful mausoleum,s i felt like i was in a tiny abandoned village ,what a shame they cannot be restored to their beauty but if with the ages of them there is no family left to care for them and no council money then they will just rot ,such a shame but thinking about it there are graves over here that are only a few years old in really bad conditions because some families think once your dead thats it ,ok we buried you now we will get on with our lives . It doesnt take much to visit at christmas or birthdays to leave a few flowers .

9:23 Here we see the German language. I expected to see many German graves, since Prague was once a majority German language city, way back in the times during the Austrian Habsburg Empire, and the Holy Roman Empire.

I watch another channel that does cemetery walks here on the states. I recently came across your channel and I'm hooked! This Czech cemetery is my favorite yet. It's just so amazing. I can't wait to see the rest if you decide to do more videos here. And just so you know, you're much braver than me! I wouldn't have gone anywhere NEAR those webs! Even the thought of those eight-legged things terrifies me!! 😆😆 Thank you again! Definitely have a new subscriber here!!
