Its essentially a wet fly but does have a lot of the attributes of the ever popular Cruncher. These kind of fly patterns are especially useful if you want to fish higher in the water column. Hope you like the pattern and give it a go.

As ever a great tutorial with some input from an ole pal. I use Bachs a lot especially early and later in the season. However as the temps begin to rise the cruncher in it’s many variations is the far better option. The fish has the final choice. With the stripped quill keeping most natural, effective and slim look. The yellow in the water looking olive is the reason Greenwells Glory is so effective. At the thorax when in the water the stem of the herl is more noticeable so any effect from the dye is also more subtly noticeable. Be it pitric , orange, or any other coloured dye. Finally I hope that cold shifts soon. I think you could have picked it up during the long flight back from the states. Mix of people in that confined space recirculated air. All those variations of colds, flu, even Covid could easily be a strain you haven’t got a resistance to? Roll on the start of your boat and match sessions for the year.
