Recipe/Recept ↓ 150 g or 5 ounces hard cheese (cheddar cheese for example) Salt 1. Cut your cheese into squares 1x1 cm (ca 1/3 inch) squares. I am using a cheese cutter, but you can just use a regular knife. The thickness should be ca 5 mm (0.2 inches). 2. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Let the pieces dry for minimum 24 h (preferably 48h). 3. When the cheese looks "sweaty" it is ready to be popped. 4. Bake the cheese on 250 C (480 F) close to the top for 1-2 minutes (or until they pop). 5. Keep a CLOSE eye them so they don't burn. 6. Take out, salt when hot, and let cool properly before you dig in. ////////////////////////////////////////////////// 150 g Valio emmental ost Salt 1. Skär upp osten i små rutor runt 1×1 cm. Tjockleken ska vara runt 5 mm. Ett tips är att använda en osthyvel istället för kniv. 2. Lägg upp bitarna på en plåt, täck med duk och torka minst 24 timmar (helst 48 timmar tills osten blir “svettig”) 3. Grädda näst-längst upp i ugnen på 230-250 grader i ca 2 minuter. Bitarna kommer att poppas upp. Håll ett öga på dem så de inte bränns. 4. Salta när de är varma och låt svalna. 5. Servera och njut av krispiga carnivore popcorn!

I admire your creativity. I live in a dry and now cold place. I’m trying this today. Not sure I can do this in the summer😂😂. Temps are in the 80’s F.

This is great idea will try it I do cheese slices cut them into 4, I don't dry them out straight into the over they melt, then they get hard and you have cheese chips

Do you dry the cheese in the refrigerator?

I dry it room temperature, but where I live it's cool and dry. So if you live in a humid place you might want to try the fridge :)

Dum fråga kanske men vad menas med att låta osten torka? Är det bara att låta de ligger på plåten? 🙈

Nejdå, det handlar bara om att lägga dem på en plåt, täcka över med handduk och glömma bort dem 24-48 timmar :) Det ska se lite "svettiga" ut!
