Case and point, the fact that Kyo is dead and the guy who called Raphtalia a thief for becoming the Katana Hero, no one else died who knew they were fools and just kept doing what fools would do but for the right reasons. (I'm not counting story plot here noted a life lesson of sorts.)

@@Kalossupremacy3356 it’s not that, it’s the way the world of shield hero works. The spirit of the shield purposefully made Naofumi’s attack his dump stat and instead put everything into defense. That coupled with physics in that world being tied to stats, makes every attack he does do nothing because his attack stat is so abysmal. It’s why shield bash doesn’t do anything. There was also a time where he straight up punched Motoyasu in the novel before the Cal Mira arc and Motoyasu didn’t even feel it nor was he even moved by it. Past shield users could attack but were weaker defensively. By the time Naofumi gets the shield, it changes its stat growth to be only defense.

The book is actually a pretty versatile weapon. The anime just cut a lot of its abilities, just like with every weapon, and in this fight, there should have been a Curse Series Book. But again, cut.

In the ln the fight was so long it hooked the reader into thinking whats next so when kyo pulled out the curse book it made the readers think whats going to happen next, what happened was "spoilers" naofumi tried to use all libearation aura but couldnt so the dragon within his shield helped him at a cost and the ability he used was sacrifice aura

Honestly, my favorite part was the life comparisons. Because the book hero shut himself away and spiraled into depression his outlook on the world was awful. Naofumi was a good person with a good head on his shoulders that was brought low by the new world not life itself. Naofumi needed people to care about him as much as he took care of others. The book hero needed a chance to live a normal and happy life and instead was given the opportunity to hurt others for catharsis

Well, it was nice to see some hope/rage dynamic forming for Naofumi this season. I don't care too much about animation or art as long as the story is told well, but I don't think they accomplished that with this season. Emotions and reasoning seem to be a core part in telling the story of Rising of the Shield Hero and the only thing I thought felt truly emotional this season was Filo's crying in that one scene. Even Naofumi's rage over it didn't really feel real after the first initial moment he found out what was happening to her. I'm hoping the pacing of the episodes allows for the characters to have time to feel their emotions and show their reasoning behind them in season 3.

I was expecting to have Kyo’s evil cocky grin to be wiped off from his face and have his comeuppance, but no…..we get none of that. This is THE most unsatisfying villain defeat ever. It is not as satisfying as the first season of Shield Hero at all. I mean, c’mon, is this best they can come up with? It only makes the first season a lot more watchable.

The full fight was underwhelming, watching naofumi get all angsty for a full minute mid-combat but overcome it through the power of friendship... Why did Kyo not do something that entire time? And was there a point to Naofumi giving in to his hatred when he immedately overcomes it? Someone tell me this was presented better in text than in the show.

The Shield hero may have destroyed the Book hero's orginal body but his soul is still in that world and tries to merge with his new body.
