I find it hilarious that Mitsusugi didn't learn the real lesson from his first loss: his problem wasn't the cursed sword being easy to steal; his problem was that he's useless without the cursed sword. That's the problem; he only learned how to counter his previouse failure without any thought for future failures or the core problem. Next time we meet Mitsurugi, he'll have some defence against Freeze, and then Kazuma will just dunk on him another way. Though honestly, Kazuma probably could have stolen that sword. His luck's high enough that he still had a decent chance of nabbing it even with the useless items. But evidently he decided to go for a much quicker and more devasting win.

It’s probably because he didn’t have to worry about watching out for his team because they’re always holding him back but when he’s alone, he doesn’t have to worry about Aqua’s stupidity, Darkness’s incompetence, and Megumin’s uselessness and therefore he just lets loose. It just shows that he could be scary if he wanted to be. (Plus, extra points for not being carried by a special op item like Mitsurugi.)

Kazuma, thanks to the three idiots, had to cover everything they lack, which turns out to make his prepared an utterly Buster Build: With Snipe, he has a 100% accurate shot with his bow thanks to his Luck Stat, he is smart enough to utilized Basic Magic in unexpected ways that takes everyone out of guard without draining too fast his mana, has Lurk and Enemy Detection, so he can just walk around without being detected as he knows the enemies' positions, Steal is broken because yet again his Luck Stat and Drain Touch is very OP because it does not only restaure his vitality and magic back to 100% but also is something nobody sees coming because is a Lich skill and not many knows that the Adventure Class can learn it.

There's a time when Dust was so incredibly annoying, that Kazuma made a bet and swapped teams with him for one quest. That ends up at Kazuma being the MVP for the Dust's team of fairly skilled adventures, making their quest a breeze, and Kazuma's party returned with a total failure - with Dust being the only useful guy in the team.

This is Antman and the "Thanus" scenario all over again, the human body is much tougher than we give it enough credit for. Even if it's only a fraction of the amount of pressure the intestines can endure the throat and lungs would be fine especially with an open exit like the mouth for the ice to expand into and out of.

This is correct. Also, afterwards when attempting to flee, Rain was about to cast a spell and Kazuma used Snipe to hit her magic crystal. Kazuma also has a combo where he uses create earth and gust to blind his opponents. He should have been doing this since volume 2 but the anime skipped it. Sad.

I loved this castle invasion scene in the light novels. It was nice being able to see Kazuma competent for once, and feared and respected as a result. The one thing I found disappointing about it was this create water moment. Instead of filling Mitsurugi to the brim with water, he had created water, filled his mouth with it, and then cast freeze again. Mitsurugi was stuck with his throat and mouth filled to the brim with ice. You had to feel bad for the guy. The magician girl was panicking trying to melt all the ice quickly enough without burning Mitsurugi before he suffocated. Man that was a rough way to go down, and it really made you fear the basic magic Kazuma had.

When I read the light novel years ago it is more brutal since Kazuma fills his mouth with water and then uses freeze to freeze the water causing him to suffocate and they can't cure him

Kazuma can really use weak spells to do amazing things when he tries. Soaking someone with create water and then freezing it is brutal. I hear it is even more brutal in the books
