For anybody wondering. Manako is part of a group of very small monkeys called a Tarsier. When these little guys get overly stressed, they will commit suicide by repeatedly bashing their skull against something until it breaks. And since their skulls are fragile it doesn't take much for them to die And the reason why her pupils are so small is bc a tarsiers pupils get very small during the day time and enlarge at night.

Lol, when I was in China, we'd have my dad's students over a lot and one time they brought a friend of theirs and they warned us ahead of time that she was REALLY shy. The girl was 19 but she was like 4ft 2. Just a tiny young woman. We were told that if she spoke, it'd be a whisper to one of the other girls, don't make direct eye contact and we really shouldn't speak to her, but if we have to for some reason, just don't expect a response. It was a little akward, but on the plus side, she really *really* liked mashed potatoes. We'd teach them to make western foods like that. We had a really big spread that day but after trying the mashed potatoes, she ate a whole bunch and wouldn't even taste the other dishes.

fun nature fact the reason why Kagami beats her head against the wall is because tarsiers get so stressed out by the simplest things they end up commiting suicide by beating their soft skulls in,it's so serious that the tour givers have to tell people to keep the noise at a minimum to keep the tarsiers from killing themselves on the spot.
