3x times faster is not really that much for a sloth. They use water on rivers to migrate to other places and they only do that because the cold temperature of the water helps their bodies not to overheat. Also, there have been cases where the sloth just let the river flow carry him to where he wants to go 😂

the Thalassocnus was just the "base" like with kangaroo in our word there was multiple species and they was much bigger than even a 2m human even for the smallest of the Thalassocnus family of species i don't think this girl is of the Thalassocnus species familly just a regular sloth that even in our word is much more quicker in water ( x3) than in earth and have a much bigger ability to stay underwater without drowning!

@@noxic8863 Humans would be the answer, human hunting habits led them to killing anything larger, thus evolutionary wise being bigger became a disadvantage, so they started losing size in response

@@catsi563 still, there are hippos, which are crazy strong and dangerous, elephants, also crazy strong, not so dangerous but too smart for our own good, rhinos, crazy strong, very dangerous yet not so aggressive as hippos, etc. all of them still alive (some endangered but still exist) and very big, and they could just become smaller but not so slow, weak and useless as modern sloths are, their only advantage is to live in the trees! I think nature was just lazy on this one (and this is probably one of the biggest middle fingers evolution has ever done)
