I really love Takada's way of dealing with the bullying. Normally one's first instinct would be to come to Nishimura's aide and defend her against the teasing. And while that might help her feel like she's not alone in her suffering it wouldn't actually solve the issue of her being bullied. Meanwhile, by constantly misinterpretting their teasing and making them get all flustered trying to explain themselves, he's actually able to transform the whole situation into something comical. What previously seemed like harsh bullying now just comes across as silly juvenile antics that Nishimura doesn't need to pay heed to. And he does all this without even thinking about it. He really lives up to his namesake; a big ball of sunshine and positivity that washes away any disheartening atmosphere.

There is also the lovely fact that by making them having to explain the reason it exposes the kids themselves to how they are behaving. Some of them seem to feel, maybe not guilty, but ill at ease when they try to clarify. Lot of bullying happens because kids are mainly driven by emotions, likes and dislikes, so once a kid is forced to actually stop and think about it, they often start to feel, maybe not always guilty, but less enthusiastic about repeating that behavior.

That shows that even though he is in his own world, he is part aware of the bullying.
