I actually did one „Mongolian“ Campaign. I started with the Karabalgasun Realm and conquered the realms to the north until i had enough troops to defeat the Great Liao. So i gained Independence and with a little luck my chancellor ended the truce with the leader of the Great Liao. So i subjugated him with the one-lifetime casus belli. Then i became the greatest of khan with the decision, which is available if you are mongol. So yeah i then started taking over every kingdom that was near me. But when i died i left the campaign alone, because it is impossible to keep the realm together. It was fun tho.

Had the same issue. In addition I had enough prestige to reform into feudal laws, which unfortunately ended my Greatest of Khan conquest as the Cassus Belli "Mongolian Invasion" was lost once I lost the tribal laws. Thought I could choose my heir better in feudal system, keep vassals more pleased and develop my cities better, but who needs that anyway when you can conquer everything. Also learned a lot about faith, because I installed wrong rulers to holy sites. So I will start again trying to avoid these mistakes, because it was just to much fun for only one attempt.😊

I started a transoxiana campaign recently. This region of the map has been very exciting, but what really stands out is how idyllic the ferghana valley looks.

You are providing probably the highest quality CK3 content out there. It is amazing the way you understood the educational opportunities of the game. And the commitment to do some sound homework beforehand. You even managed to throw the Prester John myth in the mix.

The Oirats does has some great traditions. Notably The Loyal Subjects & Strong Believers, those two traditions is what makes Oirats special from other fellow Mongolic Brothers.

As a history major I always loved crusader kings . I found so many unique and interesting historical characters to play as from counts the last of their dynasty to religious minorities under Islamic califs, to queens who ruled for only a few years who I could play as and create a new dynasty. So much. In ck3 I played as a Christian Norse countess of island daughter of a pagan Norse lord in Scotland who she has conflict because of this faith and in Ann island cut in two between pagan and Christian with no close land but islands. I counquered and became duches if island then conquered parts of Ireland and Scotland. One character I’d recommend is Count Herbert of Vermandois in 1066 . He is the last of the mighty Karling dynasty of Charlemagne who’s kings ruled Italy East and west Francia and most of mainland Europe in 867. Now the mighty dynasty is almost gone but a lowly count. Will they fade away to history or will the karlings rise again

Didn’t expect to have a book recommended to me haha. It looks like an interesting read to learn about Mongol achievements and about Temujin’s life. I’ll definitely pick it up! Although it’s still important to note that we shouldn’t romanticize the Mongol Empire, as although their achievements were impressive, they did also cause a whole lot of death and destruction.
@RealmBuilderGuy
@RealmBuilderGuy 3 жыл бұрын
As an historian I agree 100%. I tend to not romanticize much in history. The one thing about the Mongol empire that was unique was the level of cultural and religious tolerance they had at a time when that was anything but commonplace.
@Gustav_Kuriga
@Gustav_Kuriga 2 жыл бұрын
It's funny how only the Mongols are given that treatment, rather than any of the other great conquerors like Julius Caesar or Alexander the Great. Perhaps because with the former we only have mostly the sources of the conquered to go by, while with Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great we mostly have biased sources from either the men themselves or their fellow countrymen. And you can bet that many of those sources on the former played up the destruction as propaganda.
