I'm about to start season 2 so I don't know if you've already downloaded this but could you add in my humble opinion to the mod list so we can see your characters' reasons for disliking or liking certain characters.

Great stuff! I would very much like to see a degree of gradual assimilation/syncretisation (à la the Normans). You should definitely form a hybrid culture. Since we are now in Iberia, it would be a waste not to get involved in the Struggle mechanic. Satorði already stands in between two cultures, and has learned about Christianity from his mother. His wife is Catholic as well, and would likely encourage him to adopt the faith of those he seeks to rule - even if he is too sentimental or stubborn to convert himself, Satorði might see the wisdom in allowing his wife raise their children in the Catholic faith in order to endear himself to the locals and to secure better marriages for his progeny. Norse pagans tended to be very pragmatic about conversion. There might also be room to play around with witchcraft as crypto-paganism, or even delve into the local Basque form of paganism in later generations.

I absolutely loved and missed the Stjarna RP playthrough! You inspired me to make a character up there; they actually expanded down to Livonia/Estonia lands. I'd love to see an Elder Kings 2 playthrough some time.

Its good to have you back man you should definitely stay in touch with your half brothers by forming alliances with them just to make sure they do not lose land wherever they are ruling oh and invite your sister over because if i remember correctly she was the daughter of Oria so it is much likely your current ruler will bring her over here in Iberia Out of topic you should definitely try out the Princes of Darkness and Elder Kings mods

Very interesting situation our Satordi is in. You know if I was one of those large powers around Ipuskoa I would consider „hiring“ these Nordvina Newcomers to raid the Lands and Ships of the opposing side in the Iberian Struggle. Similarly to how Pirates where recruited by the English to bother the Spanish.

Yeah if Satordi converts we could probably get that Aquitainian alliance, maybe that could be our way of simulating that mercenary style relationship between the two.

You should definitely create the custom Basque faith! It makes sense from a Roleplay standpoint as well as plays into your personal legacy (Basque Mother, called to his ancestral homelands, etc.)

One of the reasons I love this game is how every playthrough is a self contained novel in its own regardless of how meek or mighty your dynasty by end game its always one hell of a ride and that's before adding mods I sank too much time in ck2 and later ck2agot

So the best course of option to me is sway and negotiate an alliance with your half brother in Aquitaine. He controls a good portion of the basque culture. Hes in a weakened position after losing to the Muslims in the south and could definitely is in need of friends to retake his lands.

Hey! So good coming back to this series. It's interesting wonder how Satordi's story will turn out - him marrying for love and infatuation for this young leader, diplomatic woman is just this super sweet combination of a marriage for love and for politics. The fact that their daughter is named Oria is just a cherry on top, what a great name to honor a great ancestor and truly missed loved one. I think if Satordi decides to convert to Catholicism, many beautiful Catholic Spanish names will become an option - for example Urraca, which is a medieval Spanish girl name meaning "magpie", or Errolan which is Medieval Basque for the name Roland who was of course a great knight. I also think Catholicism would be just a natural progression for him - his wife is Catholic, he wants an alliance with a Catholic nephew of his and I think with the acceptance widespread in Nordvina culture he would have no problem converting especially because he is a warrior and not someone close to the spiritual like his father, he might not care all that much for the Asatru faith. Converting to Basque Pagnism could be an option but it would probably require a lot of technical adjustmets - the holy sites are close by but I think the decision would demand a lot of prestige to have and also some extensive focus on learning which doesn't seem like your goal for this campaign really. - you seem to want to focus on martial more. I think we should also periodically check on our brothers and sister! Fascinating to see that they all do their own thing, although it's beyond heartbreaking to see what happened to Vasilko. It seems to me like Styrbjorn became somewhat of a tyrant - killing his brother that he was raised with, letting his younger brothers be raised by random courtiers rather than taking them under his wing after Styrkar's death... Gosh, this guy seems harsh. And he's a tortuerer no less!

My recommendation: try to break up the larger Muslim factions that surround you. Navarre is prime real estate for your expansion, and you could found the kingdom of Navarre. However since they are under Al Andalus, you'd have to contend with a much larger foe. Breaking that empire up will lead to easier pickings overall

knowing the facts that he's okay with the basque people, and the facts that his only family member nearby and his wife, are catholic, i think he'll convert sooner than later, and if it comes from a stress break he would for sure.

Conversion to catholicism seems to be the natural and smart decision. Especially since his half-sister is the Queen consort of Aquitaine (and his cousin the King) and his wife is Christian.

While the raid in Navara was quite successful, proving the superior stock of our own worriers compared to those in the neighboring kingdoms we must keep it in mind that they do have the sheer numbers advantage. While not the most honorable we must lend our ear to your spy master Vlademar and begin sowing discord and chaos in all three of your neighbors so that they might weaken enough for our glorious expansion.

Everyone in the comments is telling you to convert to Christianity but I feel he is to stubborn for that, and probably has many qualms about abandoning the gods which blessed his voyage and protected him on his journey to these strange lands. I see this character as one which carves out his personal legacy and is very cosmopolitan in his worldviews. It would make the most sense IMO to convert to/reform the faith of the mountainous basque people, whilst being sympathetic to Christianity OR to convert to the unique Iberian Christian faith rather than become a Catholic, subservient to the Pope. Also anyone hardly plays the custom Basque faith and it would be really cool seeing a Roleplay series with it. The Basque faith just makes the most sense to me RP-wise due to his (Ancestral History, Knowledge of the Basque Language, Geographic Location & Pagan Roots)

Tbh I don't think Satordi is *really* religious. His father may have been very interested in the supernatural and the divine, but as you spoke, that might just make him focus more on the natural world, and thus, keep up with being asatru purely out of sentimental reasons. After all, living in his mother's land, speaking his mother's language, raised halfway basque, having his mother's looks, and not even having Styrkar's skills... How can he keep being his father's son otherwise? So yeah i think he wouldn't convert, tbh

Yeah I'm slightly leaning that way too, I don't see anything in particular with Satordi that makes me think he'd hold particularly closely to the Asatru religion, and you make some great points there!

I've seen in the comments that there's a specific Basque religion, so if any convertion or hybridization shall be done it should be to that faith. The same goes for culture aswell. When it comes to war and expansion the focus should first be to conquer and unify all Basque lands, after that we can enter into the Iberian Struggle proper as a participant.

You should definetly convert to catholisim considering your mother was catholic and youre so far away from other asatru rulers and most of your neigbourghs are catholic. And since some of your relatives are catholic it would not make sense for you to turn to islam

Yeah even though going from Norse to Islam or making some syncretic faith there would be cool I think Catholicism just makes more sense for the this particular scenario.
