Deepika actually paid homage to Drag community with that over the top hairdo which I totally loved it. The theme was Camp which means having fun and getting quirky with your choices and that's what Priyanka's look actually did. It was fun, over the top and quirky at the same time.

Deepika’s looking like a ‘beautiful doll’ no doubt. She always does. But this isn’t Filmfare. The MET celebrates fashion as an art - design, movement, structure and architecture all in one. And the looks should be in tune with the theme; Camp : Notes on Fashion. Which basically requires you to be over the top, fun, playful, irreverent and exaggerated. And PC hit the nail on the head even if she wasn’t looking conventionally ‘pretty’. She made India proud, a country where most people don’t even get what the MET stands for, exemplified by your comment. Nevertheless, now that you know, hopefully you’ll be able to appreciate Fashion better and not make overly simplistic and misinformed decisions.
