I'm a nurse in the US (Georgia specifically) & I reallllly enjoy watching all your videos. Working in trauma/emergency nursing I don't get to hear about long term things people go through or this in depth of pt experience. I love your content outside of this stuff too. So sorry to hear this though & sending happy healthy thoughts your way!

It's been just over three weeks since I went in to have a colonoscopy for my ulcerative colitis. During that procedure my bowel was perforated and I ended up with an emergency ileostomy that afternoon (the bowel was in horrible shape). I told sooooo many people (doctors, nurses, friends, family; anyone who came in to my room really) that the reason I was dealing with the whole thing so well was because you shared your experience with the world. You sharing your experience on KZbin and me being able to watch that content back at the beginning of the year before all this happened for myself allowed me to come to terms with accepting my stoma a lot better and treating this journey with a positive outlook! Thank you so so much I honestly have know idea how I would have coped with the last few weeks without the amazing work you've done!

Hannah Witton. Thank you for your honesty and thoroughness in dealing with and reporting what has happened to you. I agree with everything Myron Speed has said. Your positive attitude is the only way to deal with the nasty bits of life. Decades ago My mother had to have a stoma and in those days everyone shied away from even mentioning it. Sad and a lost opportunity to bond. I'll still be afraid if it happens to me but your videos have shown me the way through any adversity . Thank you again 😂✔👍❤

I know your pain. My kidney was destroyed when a stone blocked the ureter and the back pressure tears the kidney tissue apart. Its “kill me now” pain. The passage of time makes the memory of that pain fade. Good to see you survived with a smile. Sorry you have had to go thru all this...

It sounds like an awful month for you! I'm so glad you're getting better even with the set backs. I also have a chronic illness and it's so validating to hear you talk about your frustration and discouragement. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but since it's out of my control, it sure is nice to know I'm not alone in the sometimes-discouraged club. I wish you a speedy recovery and no more adhesions!

I was in hospital with a family member when she had emergency abdominal surgery last month and she was the same way! She had not eaten for days and was not allowed to drink any water. Finally she was allowed to have one cup of ice chips every four hours. She was SO AWARE of the time lol. Then after her surgery she was allowed to have liquids and unlimited ice chips. She was so incredibly ecstatic. I kept having to remind her that she could have more and she was so pleased each time.

Your health journey sounds a bit like a game of snakes and ladders, you hit a snake that took you back down a bit but now you know where a couple more ladders are so you can get back to where you were a bit faster. I hope you land on even more ladders for the course of your recovery 💛💛💛💛💛

Charlotte Armstrong Yes - excellent analogy! When I was going through 6 months of chemo I felt the same. Every 3 weeks I slid down a long snake, and it took the next 3 weeks to climb up a long and exhausting ladder, only to find another snake at the top! That analogy really helped me at the time.

Couldn't relate more re mindset of 'oh this is gonna happen again'. I had my stoma for 2 years and then all of a sudden my small intestine twisted itself ☺️👍 cool. It's called volvulus. I had to have emergency open surgery to fix it and was so nervous for a long time after. It's now been another year and I'm fine 😊 try not to worry and celebrate small victories! It's cool how you have such a charismatic and relatively funny personality and a stronger than average spirit in order to be handling all of this in such a way to make it actually *interesting and involving* to watch and hear you talk about, (kind of like watching a drama filled, cleverly funny "movie", or at the very least, an interesting, informative learning "documentary" about the topic!), even though it is a topic that most people could *never* talk about to *anyone* , and a topic that where usually someone else would go; "Eww, I don't wanna watch a video about that, that's gross!"... But YOU have the very unique ability to turn this whole ordeal into a very intriguing story that one can't help but watch and listen to, simply because of the way you present it all to everyone who cares to know! That's a really cool quality about you! It's still quite unfortunate that you even have to be dealing with any of this type of burden in your life, especially at such a young, vibrant age, because it limits what you can do physically and the fun things that I know you really want to be able to do in your younger years of your life!... But "it is what it is", I guess, and at least you seem to be handling this whole thing as well as *anyone* possibly could, as this is a LOT to have to deal with! You are very strong in mind and spirit, so that's good and very helpful here! (I know; you also accept support from caring others when and where you need it to get through this, whether that needs to be physically, mentally, emotionally, or psychologically! ;) ) Also, along those lines, your BF Dan sounds like a really great guy, staying right by your side throughout this whole process and never giving up on you or getting disgusted by or turned off by the whole process!... Most average guys probably couldn't handle their GF having to go through this sort of thing quite as well as he seems to have!... I think you have a "keeper" there! I would be very supportive too if I was in his position! I just hope I can find a really cool and very beautiful girl like you for myself someday soon! :) Hopefully you are doing much better and are back to a more "normal" life by now, as I'm watching this a year after you posted it, in the time of the Corona Virus!... Stay safe, healthy, funny, and *happy* ! I wish you the best! :) All of your fans and subscribers will always continue to look forward to seeing more videos from you whenever you have the time and energy to make them!... No rush tho, you do whatever you gotta do to get back all of your energy and a more "normal" life!

You show your bravery in these videos, there are many lows in this process so when you hit a high it feels so great! When you were discussing the NG tube and using the sponge for any type of moisture, I know that is an amazing feeling to get anything!! You have a wonderful attitude about this whole process and I can tell you are a strong person to get through this!!
