Getting my 45 "ranked" matches was super simple with my Weezing/Arbok deck since like 70% of my matches were against Mewtwo/Gardivoir decks. Pikachu EX was annoying but manageable as long as I got an Arbok in time. Blaine decks and Articuno decks REALLY got me on it though.

I ran the same deck and had similar experiences. Venasaur was unwinnable, but almost no-one plays that.

hey PokeDekks, you should try a Golbat + Machamp EX deck. I have found great success with it, even shutting down Mewtwo EX and Pikachu EX decks. Using pure fighting energy. Golbat can be a threat to Mewtwo and Ralts. When playing against Pikachu, you want to buy time for Machamp EX to come online. once you have him setup, that’s all you really need to finish the game. Sabrina is essential in pulling out the opponent’s Ralts/Mewtwo for our Golbat to threaten them with dmg. It also disrupts their energy gain. Machamp EX line x2 Golbat line x2 Sabrina x2 Poke Ball x2 Research x2 the last 4 cards are flex for your preference. I don’t believe Giovanni to be so valuable in this deck because you’re aiming to deal dmg with Golbat every turn, while setting up Machamp for the big sweep. This gives space for utility cards like potion or red card.

The second line besides Machamp Ex line should really be for going first. Stage 1 line with 1 cost attack and low retreat cost. Dugtrio and Marowak (non-ex) line are both good line going first. Marowak line is extra good for enabling Marowak Ex. You can run 2 Ex + 1 non-Ex or 2 non-Ex + 1 Ex. I hate Marowak Ex. The fact that it can hit zero feels really bad. Yes, it can one shot almost anything with 2 heads, but a double-tail can lose a winning game.

@stefaneable I wanted to go either the diglet line or regular marowak. But I didn't have doubles of them so I went a hitmonchan and a hitmonlee

I changed 2 potions for 2 Giovanni for now, because of Staryu, Starmie,Zapdos so I can one shoot them, you don't want to to leave 10 hp so they could hit or retreat and hp potions don't work. A lot of people go staryu/starmie and if it they do it in start then your machop or primeape are one shot, giovanni can help if you have Primeape and he has only Stariu or you have machamp and he has starmie.

I've been playing this without the two Potions. I have a regular Machamp (sometimes he gets the job done without risking the two points) and one Giovanni instead. Excellent run so far in the event matches.

interesting primape can be used as a stalling wall because the opponent dont dare to hit you for the 100hp counterstrike unless its a ohko.

Was grinding pvp last night and 3 Zapdos Ex decks each one got 3 or 4 heads every single time against my mewtwo ex deck. One of the games I had lethal on board and just needed a 50/50 split on the coins but they got 3/4 and 3/4 back to back ko'ing both 4 energy m2's with gardevoir online. Felt super rough digging out the line just to get rocked on the odds (14% chance for the back to back 3/4)

I run a hitmonlee/machamp deck. Hitmonlee destroys the pokemon they are building up while you build up your machamp. Run 2 pokedex to see whats coming and use pokeballs to shuffle what I dont like

Been using the marowak ex machamp ex deck all event, but literally everyone is just using mewtwo ex deck with gardevoir, and if they get their lucky pulls first might as well concede and save time. Crushing mostly everyone else, including mewtwo decks that don't get luck of the draw over me, sometimes lose to a good venesaur ex or articuno ex deck, rarely lose to pikachu ex or dragonite decks, mewtwo ex is 5050, luck of the draw.

All these vids of people playing these decks are a bit annoying. I’ve been playing non-stop since the game came out and I can’t ever build any of the decks they have because I refuse to pay to win. I’m sure all these dudes are $600-$1000 deep already into the game. I know it’s free to play, but these dudes are like, you should play this amazing deck I have!! And they have every card they need and some. I barely have enough to play a Pikachu deck. And I’ve opened every pack I could possibly open since the game dropped. Sorry for the rant haha. These pay to win things are just annoying. It is a fun game tho, so don’t think don’t like it.

Honestly, I think the game is very free to play. I just haven’t had the same experience, I’ve been really lucky lol. I have enough good cards to almost complete 3 really good decks. For you though, if you really hate the cards you got, reset and get the cards you want off rip and then go crazy and grind. Or, wait until trading drops, and get the cards you need that way.
