Great tips. I had my best day driving a golf ball in a long time after working on setup, tee height, and spine angle. Shot 77 on a tough driving course with tight fairways and long par 4s. Looking forward to next season. Really nice to see ball headed down the middle with a baby draw. Snow will be flying soon in upstate NY. Nominating you for sainthood. Good advice for us average hackers.

Really liked your tip about tee height. I tend to hit down on the ball so I should be teeing lower than the "recommended" height if my strikes are high on the clubface? Thank you and keep up the great work with these videos.

Gday' How do u decide the feet apart stance distance as u go down in club order. And what about the distance from the toe of your shoe to the center of the club you are using. Driver down to SW

Hi Matt, once again an excellent video on driving. I will get some foot spray and spray it on the face of my driver. I like you do not tee it up too high as I hit down on it. My problem with the driver is sending it left, sometimes with a hook other times I find the fairway. Any suggestions or tips to stop my left shot with my driver. Keep these videos coming andI will always watch them.

Great tips I also flare my feet fifteen degrees out and drop my trail foot back about six inches to encourage a draw but also makes the back swing and downswing easier, because the body clears better.
@Mattfryergolf5 жыл бұрын
Yep flaring the feet will help you rotate throughout the swing. Closed stance will influence your path to get you more inside 👍

Great tips as always mate. Quick question. I rarely if ever take a practice swing, not with any club. Should I start taking practice swings? Do you think it would help with consistency?
@Mattfryergolf5 жыл бұрын
I think they are a great way to help you rehearse the swing feeling you want to create the shot you are about to hit, instead of trying to do it cold. Also they are free so why not?!

Good stuff Matt. My problem always seems to be swing plane. Either too upright or baseball bat. It’s hard working off feel when you can’t see your own swing.

Not trying to be an arse, but there is one thing, I think, that people might understand, and thats something I recently understood and it helped my driving. Yes, its good to have some right side bend or tilt when setting up to the driver, but its good to know that at the top of the swing that tilt should be gone, and then appear again when I swing down again. I tried over and over and tried to maintain that tilt all the way through impact and that didnt help. Like this and I understand that this tip is more directed to higher handicaps. Just my 2 cents mate.

Luckily for us (and somewhat randomly) IBM did, for whatever reason, decide to measure driving distances for 11 tournaments in 1967, when Nicklaus was 27 and in his physical prime. The results, as uncovered by our Mike Johnson: Nicklaus averaged 276 yards, the longest on the PGA Tour.... and he won 18 majors
