Eagle's brief discussions about physical rehab and how he's adapting his techniques were the best part of this practice round coverage. Simple concise observations about mechanics and their effects on technique and flight dynamics are VERY rare in DG media writ large. If DiscMania truly wants to up their media presence in a way that will build following and awareness, they'll work with Eagle to develop an ongoing series of his own alongside Simon's. Where Lizotte focuses on his own skill sets as a top-tier player and master of "trick shots", McMahon can focus on the more technical aspects of the game, which these episodes clearly demonstrate as a strength, as well as offering crucial advice about how to maximize performance in other aspects of the sport.

Based on Eagle's vocal avoidance of the "snack foods" Simon was putting away, alongside other hints dropped along the way, I suspect he knows better than to weaken his valuable soft tissue -- a side effect corticosteroids are well known for -- with a symptomatic "quick fix".

QUestion, why is Simon not throwing Forehands as much? I know he has a lingering injury, but does throwing sidearm cause it to be worse? Same for Eagle.. does sidearms mess up something while rehabing compared to backhand?

@@SausageFPS The sidearm throws are what caused the injury, the mechanics are a bit different in the throws. Backhands are much more whole body and so the stress is spread more evenly if done right. The forehand is way more compact and really strains the shoulder and elbow. For Simon he injured his elbow and while its better now the more he uses it in high stress ways (forehands) the more it can damage it. And for eagle it's the same case just the shoulder instead of elbow. So doing backhand allows for less stress to be on the damaged parts. There's probably more to it but that's my understanding. I've noticed this in myself too. My backhands I don't have pain or strain at all, but with forehands they're starting to cause me some pain in my elbow so I'm trying to back off of those a little and adapt my play to reduce how much I need them.

I rarely use a sidearm as it's not developed for me and I'm not confident with it like I am a backhand, which can get me in trouble when a shot calls for a nice forehand. I hope he recovers and still can use it when needed, because he's one of the best Ayers in the world.
