i personally would have left those hooks and reported it to fish and game and let them come out and bust the guy. while taking the stuff stops him temporarily a big fine will make em think twice. that guy there definitely knows what he's doin isn't right hiding em like they did. I applaud you foiling those snagging plans though my guy. Always awesome to get the first of the year on the board.

Always report snaggers, I’d give DNR a call just to tip them to where you’re seeing lots of snagging rigs so they can monitor the area. Absolutely disgusting what some people consider “fishing”…. Never be afraid to give DNR a call, it’s horrible to see such utter disregard and complete abuse of a natural resource… hope everyone has a good season, I’m a fly angler but as long as you’re being ethical you’re okay in my book. Soapbox rant over, stay blessed y’all 🇺🇸
