no consideration for a 3b pre with AJ? if LJ is effective UTG then maybe its not the best 3b but it's worth considering a 3b depending on V's perceived opening range

Probably no reason to lead out river. Likely folds out all weak holdings that might bluff and opens door for a reraise. Which is hard to call and villain can bluff using blockers. If you gonna bet when hand becomes vulnerable why not bet when its strong?

Hero describes himself as the other 'pro' on the table. Comparatively I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but man his logic doesnt sound very good, or could just be very uncomfortable moving higher from live 2-5. Pre: Folding on the double with AJo just no... even vs UTG pro imo being 100bb deep. Flop: Like bart says, mandatory x-raise. So many potential bluff combos in there as well, broadway gutshots, clubs, with top 2 like bart says you need to think of getting the money in. Looking down on a 100$ bet gotta raise to 350, with the plan of betting 1/3 into jam depending on runout ofcourse. Turn: As played, fine River: TERRIBLE sizing. Hero is repping strength that is beyond his hand strength. He will only fold out worse get called by better , which i think by his sizing Villian is only calling AJ 2pair plus. AK might hero call on half pot sized bet but 66% is overrepping hand. The worst part is, vs a good player who is holding the right blockers and the right sicko poker attitude, he might just do this and put hero in this disgusting spot where hero really shouldn't have been in. Heros logic on why Villian didnt bet his club draw in position on the turn is not necessarily good logic. I think if V had broadway clubs it would be a mix decision and not straight up betting just because of the dangers of getting x-r on and get blown off good equity. Important to note that both KQcc and KJcc has sufficient equity to do both. Also given hero's calling range on flop includes gutters, the Q on the turn completed KT which is another reason to slow down if V is holding AK or clubs.

doesn't take much to be a pro in Florida.... this just seems like you're trying to flex with your analysis after the fact. I guarantee you've bet 66% pot on the river in a nearly identical pot at some point in your life. you're just ripping on him for comment clout

@@lewismilesbarber1 Meh. I think you're overstating things. If he's a 2-5 pro, I can absolutely see him feeling a little at sea in that particular spot in a 2-5-10-20 game. Sure it ended up being a 125 BB starting stack, but against a capable and aggressive player, with that specific pre-flop action, and then his taking the check-call line on the flop, I can see how a for-profit player could still end up leveling himself into that clearly sub-optimal pair of river decisions. The hand ends up being sooo much easier to play if he just XRs the flop. I'm sure we can almost all agree on that.

There are a lot of dynamics at here. Hero is super wide but I do think pros will check back KcXc at a decent frequency whether the gutter came in or the pair on turn. keep heros weaker range in there and maybe not try to bluff someone off a perceived top pair after the call in the flop. Also considering the player and positional dynamic. I think he had a big hand but it is possible with heros capped range he villian tried to exploit hero over folding in that spot

it honestly doesn’t seem that interesting. as played with table dynamics mentioned we have the easiest river check call ever. he is a pro he should be betting thin and you can get him to value own himself a lot plus pick off bluffs. as a bonus you can’t be bluffed. i didn’t even listen to the whole hand yet came to comment as soon as hero bet river.

You have to have some value hands that fold on the river. in my opinion this hand is a perfect candidate to fold. It doesn’t block the flush And is probably the very weakest hand you value bet on the river. if you’re calling with this hand it means you’re calling with all non bluffs and that means you’re calling way way way to much.

If it is really "another pro" as the caller said the villain should have a lot of bluffs there and you are getting a price. Very few things are absolutes.

Toni Paradise one absolute is you need some value bet folds on this river regardless of your opponent. this hand is at the very top of the list you block no value and you’re at the very bottom of your value range. if you were planning on bet calling this hand it means you have no folds and you are incredibly unbalanced and easy to play against. for me to call with this hand i would have to be playing in a purposely unbalanced exploitative way vs a manic, ei a villain specific plan and i would also have no bluffs to go with my no folds.

acehole that’s what I am saying in less words. A lot of players play badly. Against most rec players it is a fold. However against SOME player types it is an exploitative call. However I am check raising flop and betting the turn so it’s hard to put myself in said spot

BB will have quite a few flushes, being BB defends pretty wide preflop with suited cards. Calling $55 to win $160, so bb range should be pretty wide. With that said villain can't raise river lightly given how many flushes are in your range compared to his. Well played imo. I do think villain can call with AxKc or AxTc as hero should be bluffing with some Jc or 6x on the river.

A lot of contradictions here. He says he thinks opponent recognizes AK with K of club isn't good enough to call because he wouldn't be betting 2/3 pot with 1 pair but when Bart asked him what he would do With A10 here, he said he would still bet. Doesn't make sense.

Well, tough call this one. 600 to win 2000ish. You should make it if you think villain will ever turn Kd or Qd into a bluff. That was the purpose of the villains: "Occasionally, I do." comment. He probably had it this time (when they make such comments, they usually have had it). I, myself, would probably end up folding as well. But it's close. He never raises a set, and, probably, he might raise a broadway if it is, like KcTx (hoping to fold out at least some baby flushes and to get heroed by something hero has), but thats all. He never raises a baby flush (up to, like 9-high), he never raises AxQx. So he kind of represents KcTx (as said above), KcTc, KcQc, KcJc, QcJc , QcTc , Qc9c, JcTc, Jc9c and Tc9c. Most of those hands (KcTx, KcTc, KcQc,QcJc even QcTc) will not often be a check back on turn. On the other hand, he does not have a ton of viable bluffs as well: AxKc is hero blocking to an extent, KcJx as well, there is obviously KcK, maybe KxQc or KcQx,, maybe TcT or ATc (as Tc blocks a ton of hero's flushes). I hero would give 100 % him all of those bluffs, it's probably call, but I would be afraid some of those are just a call (as they are also bluff-catchers). With AsJc this is call, with AsJd, well, probably good-ish fold...

Agree, but then hero can just check river and have all these bluffs (which are all pairs) check back. IMO the river bet was a big mistake, he had 2 streets to get value and missed both of them, he really ran out of value on the river.

@@FefeLeVrai The way it was played, everybody ran out of value, so to say. You kind of don't want the AxTcs, KcQxs, etc. of the world to check you back. So, the 2/3 value bet is imo justified. If you check, not too much hands your're beating are in fact betting (QcJx maybe, A6, A7 maybe, AKc maybe...), except of pure bluffs. When he makes it 300 to 350, you've got in fact a tougher call than this one (you have to be there more of a time and this might not be a case). As the oponent checked (given he's a pro) back the turn, he had to have some sort of showdown equity. I am 100 % with you, that turn should be a bet. Given that bet hasn't occur, the bet on the river is sort of mandatory.

When you check the flop and play like you’re week, expect a ride through the whole amusement park; you needed to make the call. Your mistake was not leading out on the flop IMHO.

Honestly, if you describe the player as both capable _and_ aggressive, I actually like a bet-call line, just with a smaller-sized lead on the river - depending on how the opponent's raise size varied as well. I think opponent's value there consists of KQcc, KJcc and _maaaayyybe_ QTcc as played. You can definitely find enough bluffs from a capable/aggressive opponent to call there, getting those odds.
