Shout out to a fellow Shark Tank player in Columbus! I've been playing there 4-5 days per week the past couple months. The games are incredible. From this lady's voice, I think I might know who the caller is. I'll have to ask her the next time I see her there. As far as her open sizing, nothing wrong with it in this specific card room. I default to $!5 raise-first-in , but there are plenty of lineups where $30-$40 opens are standard. A lot of these games are $1-$2 in name only, as they play more like $2-$5 or even $5-$10.She played the hand well, and given my experience playing in this room there's a much higher river check-raise frequency than in normal $1-$2. I'm not even sure I could have mustered up a call on the river though. NH!

Theres definitely a vibe in some cash games where guys consider women scared money and when she bets so small he thinks he can blow her off a weak 2p. AJdd has to be the best hand to call with here, even better than any possible 2p bc he never takes that line with 2p

AJ and AQ being the best hands to call down with. Especially the diamond and or heart variety. Way Better than 2p

ns. ALL 3 limpers called at 20 BB. She also said that in a hand soon after, she raised to $60 over 3 limpers and got 5 callers. I can't even imagine how that could happen.

This is pretty standard in Texas 1/2 games. I've straight opened to $50 against 2 limpers and they both called. It's just different when everyone is deep stacked.

Timing tell or not, getting x-r there going thin is NOT fun to be in, even with the timing tell the risk-reward there is almost neutralized. Props to caller for actually sticking to her guts and being proven correct despite against all odds

It's fun when you have the nuts 😆 sometimes I bet thin on the river in pos to induce bluffraises from other regs.

I played here about a month ago, chopped a tourney. From talking to the regs 1/2 here plays like a 2/5 sometime a 5/10. Very well organized poker room, great dealers too.

The quici chaotic bet usually indicates significant strength. Whenever I see it, it's with the nuts. The never count it out just grab chips and throw them in..they want to make it look like a bluff. Never is. Surprised it was here.

To be fair, AJdd is a much better river call than AcTx AsTx. But I would never bluff catch vs someone who's limp calling 40 with K3 K4s. So this hand is a one-off generally. A more comfortable play would've been just to bet 1/3 pot on the river to get a snap call by Kx Ax, since that way villain doesn't necessarily need to turn his hand into a bluff.

Aha, you mean vs fun players? Got it. I love to trap nutted hands and x/r on the river but also have made several bluffs in that spot to be balanced :) but yeah, it all depends who you play against.

The guys line makes no sense, and the fact that we have a Jack makes me even more inclined to call. The guys hand looks like a K, up until he raise, which made me think he had a busted draw like Q9s/c, JQ, etc...there's not many hands would stab turn, and then check-raise the river.

Being able to discern when you made an incorrect play when receiving a positive outcome is a CRITICAL skill in poker. Hero made many assumptions about villains range with insufficient justification causing her to make an extremely thin call. This is already the bottom of the value range, no need to defend vs a decent size check raise. Unless you had a VERY specific read and were betting specifically to induce this is borderline spew. We rarely knows our opponents ranges, only our own.
