I had the same engine spacer plate problem on my 5e, by the way I think at this point the camp dog is just committed to always having an oversized piston 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️, it's a part of it's identity

@@matinghaderzadeh3868 make sure your spacer plate is not bent, make sure you have the spacer plate dowels properly installed and in my case the holes for the dowels on my spacer plate were bigger than they should have been, what I did was I loosened all the transmission to engine bolts( a little bit, don't take them out ) go to the bottom of the spacer plate and you are going some some holes for the lower part of the spacer plate that bolts to the transmission, if you got spacer plate misalignment like I had, you are going to see it there, grab a hammer and gently tap the spacer plates until the holes align, be very careful, those spacer plates are thin sheet metal and they will break, if not, you are pulling the trans out to replace the spacer plate

We think that thin plate is mis aligning the starter, when the starter is engaged the gear mesh is way too tight and its forcing the front of the nose cone upwards, when the last one broke off, the engine started fine lol

the starter thing is scary, i forgot to reinstall my plate when i built my engine years ago, and i never got around to doing it. so i've always had to 'clock' my starter when installing a new one, i've gotten so used to it i do it by ear. catch both bolts, get the bolts close then swing the bottom ot slightly and tighten both, if not it grinds on the ring gear and makes an awful noise. if i had the plate installed and ran into this issue it would drive me nuts. glad its out now that i watch this video. xD

No plate? No problem. Just put two washers of the same thickness between the starter and the trans through the bolts.

@@SG-wp6sg the spacing isn't the issue that the plate corrects. Without the plate the bolt holes through the bellhousing alone are too bit so you can have the starter too close to the center line of the crank which causes a "whirring/grinding" noise on startups, I've just gotten used to gapping the starter away from the ring gear on installs.
