Normally, what you describe would indicate that the Yellow wire is not getting constant power like it should so the memory gets whipped when the power it turned off. However, since the wiring is correctly connected, then I recommend speaking with a technician for help. We have toll-free technical support for our customers so you should give them a call. Page 12 of the manual shows how to adjust depending on the mode you are in. Basically, once you have selected an EQ preset, you can then hold down the EQ button and it should bring you to a mode to change the EQ curve. It does have a high and low pass filter that becomes active when you set the unit's rear/subwoofer preamp output to subwoofer. The low pass for the subwoofer channel and the high pass for all the other channels including internal amp channels--Crutchfield

The KD-R530 is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor). Once you've tuned to the station you want to save as a preset, you can press and hold the rotary knob until the words "Preset Mode" flash in the display screen. Then, turn the knob to select the desired preset number and press in on the knob to confirm the selection. HTH!--Crutchfield

The JVC KD-R530 featured a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning. This model has been discontinued and is no longer available from Crutchfield. This is covered on page 11 of the JVC owner’s manual. Basically, you press and hold the menu button then use the rotary knob to select “Color” and then ‘button”, “display” or “all zone” as the buttons and display can be illuminated differently or the same. Absolutely. If you properly title the folders using the artist name, the text will appear on the JVC screen as you are scrolling through the folder list. If you cannot upgrade your alternator, the next best option to address your power draw issue is to add a capacitor. We recommend 1 farad of capacitance for every 500 watts RMS in your system. This model offers a 3.5mm minijack auxiliary audio input on both the front and back of its chassis. It's a great radio only downside is it won't read some mp3 files that have been converted from youtube videos from a usb flash drive.

I bought this stereo for my 1996 Saturn SL1 but it keeps draining my battery when the car is not driven for about 3 or 4 days. What could the problem be? Does this model not support the new iPods (ipod6) along with the new USB they come with? When I plug mine in, nothing changes and there's no "USB" option when I try to change the source.

Sal Marquez It was listed to support the iPhone5 (which came with the same lighting connector) so I'm not sure why you would have problems with the 6. Newer versions of the iPhone OS can sometime cause problems. You can try rebooting your iPhone while connected to the stereo. That has worked for other stereo models. Hope that helps!--Crutchfield

I am having trouble setting my stations 7-18. No matter how many times i re-read the manual, I still can't understand how to set stations to memory for 7-18. Can anyone help or possible upload a video? Every time I use the auto SSM feature it will save the same stations on 1-6 for stations 7-12 and 13-18. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

You can adjust the display color for the “Button Zone”, “Display Zone” or “All Zone”. Press and hold the “Menu” button until the setting menu is activated. Turn the knob until the word “Color” appears in the display then press in on the knob to select the option. Turn the knob to toggle through the different zone options (button, disp, All) and press in on the knob when the “zone” you want appears in the display. This is covered on page 11 of the JVC owner’s manual which you can download for free on the Crutchfield website. Sounds like it's not getting any power. Check your fuses and the power leads in the harness to ensure proper connections.
