Damn, man. I had the best dad any kid could ask for & lost him in a car crash just before my 16th birthday. Ironically in a Honda, that was meant to be my first car. Couldn’t imagine how proud you are to have the experience to see your son , perpetuate the LHT legacy

Gotta love the innocence of youth. You get him wire brushing calipers and ask him if he's having fun and he says yes when any adult would reply "no, this is quite possibly the most tedious mind numbing task I've ever done" 😁😁😁. You're passing on your own brand of LHT TLC admirably and I salute you for it 👏👏. Great stuff 👍👍.

Ahhh those seats bring back memories. I fitted a pair of CRX seats but in Grey and charcoal to my '70 Capri V6. Had to make up brackets which my dad did for me the legend. SO comfy and supportive.

Amazing! Not only the fact you’re able to do what you love, you have provided the next generation the greatest opportunity at success. Sebastian is going to be a great mechanic and own some of the sweetest cars. Built by his own hands. Simply amazing.

Always love the content. Your kid will forever have great memories of the both of you doing things together. I think the Del Sol wheels looked really good on the CRX. I like them better than the HX wheels. I'm a bit biased though, being a Del Sol owner. 😁
@LHTPerformance3 ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏 HX have always being my favorite but the Del Sol wheels really suit it. They look like 15s due to their design.
@GreenSol953 ай бұрын
Yeah, the design does make them look bigger than they are, despite being 14s. I keep my original set of the exact same wheels in my attic that came on my 95 Del Sol.

John, when I had my insight, that is how I found the channel originally, it was auto, sold it after 3 yrs of owning never had an issue other than the hybrid battery was junk, did an arduino board to fool California smog. I'll message you on ig, I did a custom subwoofer box just to give you and idea of how it looked and stuff, miss that car, but at the time I was forced to sell..

I'm in a similar boat, John. My daughter is almost the same age as Sebastian and I keep telling her I want to get her some kind of 90s Civic for her first car but the reality of it is those cars by comparison are not safe when put up against the 9000lb Teslas that everyone around here drives.

Love this story. I was a single parent with a son. I know how dangerous the CRX can be. Always defensive driving in it. He took his driving test in the CRX, the DMV person that took him on the road test could not drive a standard. He mostly drove the Odyssey in his teens. He is 20 now and drives a 2020 Si Sedan.

Keep the crx for your son😢 it’s a way better drive than an insight ! It’s a better car too! It’s my opinion , in anycase i respect the decision 😇keep up the good work like always
@carlloftin28503 ай бұрын
Understand on the safety side of the equation- the crx is awesome but the extra level of driver protection on the insight is a nice feature to have for a beginner. Hate to see the CRX go as I have gotten used to seeing it in the background… hope it goes to a good home if you decide to sell.

That rattling sound might be just something loose and resonating under the bonnet... or actually might be the alternator going bad, since it´s getting so hot

As cool as it is to have a sports car when you first start driving, I think you are absolutely right . The CRX is as unsafe as it is Fun. No air bags, no abs and very short crumple zone. Its also smaller than most cars on the road today so many drivers don’t always see you . I always says the best first car is a toyota corolla. Why? Cheap to buy ..cheap to own..cheap to fix but its built not to break. Cheap on gas, cheap on insurance and good resale value. no its not powerful…good! I was young and stupid. Low power doesn’t invite you to be careless. When starting to drive its best to have the most simple car possible because ownership and the responsibility can be overwhelming. You learn the basics and behaviour of a vehicle in many conditions. It prepares you better for when you step into a faster and more expensive car. I told all this to my nephews when they were looking to get a CRX after getting their Licence. It might have been a great first car in the 90s but not today. The light weight works against you in crash. The parts are getting to be expensive and hard to find too. As for you Son. He seems to be taking the news well. He seems like a really good kid. One day when he’s older and has more XP under his belt he’s going to get that CRX . Waiting for your dream car makes you appreciate it even more.
@LHTPerformance3 ай бұрын
My thought too. We all want a sports car, the insurance guy doesn’t agree. The CRX is a really fun car, it I wouldn’t want to hit a heavy Tesla or truck. Air bags, ABS, better structure etc will make it safer. Also, ( he doesn’t know this yet) I can reduce the power in the car will a few keys strokes. He’s always been pretty conservative and I don’t think he’ll be goofing around, but this I can do. Thanks for the comment and voice of reason.
