Looks really good. Just did a full spray on my ek hatch. Lot of work to make it right. On ur turbo set up, I don't know what ur power goals are. But u can make the same numbers ur running now with a log manifold and keep ac. Doesn't look as cool as what u got now, but it does work. Or dump the single and go b20 vtec. You won't be sorry and still keep everything without the turbo headaches. Awesome looking build, earned a scriber
@agcrxturbo95772 жыл бұрын
Nice, loved to see the outcome when it’s done. The reason I avoided a log manifold were for a few reasons. One being that I wanted to retain AC and still run a full radiator. The other was because it’s a D16 motor, although I have ARP studs, I wanted to avoid head lift due to heat backing up from exhaust manifold. Longer runners help eliminate that.

I have a near perfect, almost 100% original 97 EJ8 with the Y8 and a GTX3071 top mount turbo that I refused to lose the AC on. It was a painful few days of manipulating and bending things to the limits, but I'm probably one of the very few with a setup like this. If you're dead set on keeping the AC, you'll figure a way to keep it. And having something that nice, you gotta have it.

I'm building my 88 CRX just trying to fix fuel delivery at the moment ,same rims but white car, definitely stealing your adding a T to the HF idea 😂, I swapped to a b16a2 did the 1320 manifold and downpipe,used the 85 VW radiator to help sink it into the bumper more, looking forward to it so much! Great looking car , thanks for the heads up about the AC lines, in in TX and will probably just get it running then work on it again during winter to run all the AC lines too dang hot out!
@agcrxturbo95772 жыл бұрын
What issues are you having with fuel? For sure use that “T”, we’ll get more out there with it. 👍🏽 As for AC, man this has been such a challenge due to lack of space and heat in these engine bays. I’m not looking to vent the hood or shim it at the hinge so it’s been a battle. Word of advice, go with an electric compressor if possible. I’m still troubleshooting ac things due to heat which Ive wrapped all my lines with DEI heat shield. The shorter radiator would a like it’ll help on space but I was concerned with cooling on track days due to size and only having 1 fan.
@mattstarnes20062 жыл бұрын
@@agcrxturbo9577 exactly why I went with the 85 VW scirocco radiator, it's full sized but fits under the core support, although I had to cut abit for everything As far as fuel I put in a DW400 pump and used the relay kit (also from DW) and I'm not getting a signal from the factory wiring now. This is my first Honda, first turbo, first real "build" so I'm getting it slowly but surely I recently picked up a DA Integra for a daily but I ran into issues with it too so now I'm trying to fix it so then I can continue working on my "race" car I got the VW radiator idea from Texas Honda Channel if you want a visual
@agcrxturbo95772 жыл бұрын
Oh ok. Well if the fuel pump was working before the new pump, it’s something with the new one. Otherwise, check the oem fuel pump relay, it’s located by the hood latch. I’ll check out the KZbin to see the radiator. 👍🏽

Cool build! For sure get that turbo rotated closer to verticle for the feed and drain! I wonder if that turbo isn't too small for making good power. I run a VSR 5855 turbo, and it is DBB and billet, and it was only $679. I say only.... but, it has plenty of head room
@JD-rq7il2 жыл бұрын
My bad, just watched the cars and coffee and you are running a larger turbo than I thought. Mine is also oil and coolant through the center section, and I was told the same, running coolant is mandatory
@agcrxturbo95772 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro. Yeah, just dropped the car off today to correct the turbo angle to what Garrett recommends. As for my oil drain, I’m running a Turbowerx scavenge pump that pulls the oil out of the turbo and pushes it to the oil pan. Because of the custom sidewinder design (needed to retain ac and full radiator) there wasn’t a straight shot to the oil pan so gravity wasn’t an option. The turbo is good for about 400-425 hp according to Garrett and motor is built for that if I run e85 (which I don’t plan on running those numbers).
