@@goldeneyereloaded5743 but it is cool theory. I mean at the end it shows him in a wheelchair out of nowhere. Which I think means the game takes place in his mind while he is in the wheelchair thinking about his depression. We are simply in his thoughts of him thinking about his depression in that moment. The monsters represent his bullies, his problems. The guns represent his coping skills and his medication fending off the monsters. He has cuts on his wrists, symbolizing he wants to harm himself. And at the end we see him snap out of this huge thought and realize we were in his mind this whole time all along. I think this is a good theory.

I'm aware how old this comment is but the creator of the game made all the music himself and is currently still making music for his own band INTIG (his last upload on KZbin was only a few weeks ago at the time if writing this) . If you haven't already I'd recommend you give it a listen.

For me, cry of fear isn't scary due to constant jump scares. This game is scary because it seems like anyone is susceptible to the events of this game. You have a traumatic experience, you begin to experience depression and begin your terrifying decent into madness. You see your friends die, your family disappear, monsters fit for nightmares decend upon you and you don't know if it's even worth it to carry on. Eventually you decide it isn't and take your own life. Very unnerving to play. And no one better to watch than you.

I really like the reloading mechanic in this game. It's very realistic to lose the rest of the bullets in the current mag if you swap it out for a fresh one. I think more games should implement that. This game is very generous with ammo so far though.

honestly, if first person shooters adapted the way cry of fear deals with ammo and clips, competitive multiplayer would actually be competitive. in real life you either save the half clips for later or drop em and move on. your bullets dont magically stay collected to unrealistically refill your clip when you press a button. that fact about clips in real life makes cry of fear stand even more unique!

I know this is a very old comment but while I get where you are coming from I don't think the game handles everything in a pretentious way. There are aspects and things to it that are real and relatable. The director of this game struggled and still struggles to this day with major depression and he sort of implemented into this game what he felt often times and what was going on in his head. It's truly unsettling if you think about it in my opinion. Sure not every single part about it is 100% accurate but let's be honest that wouldn't be possible anyway as every single human being copes and struggles with these things in different ways. Thoughts and imagination are also very subjective.

Son of Savile No problem! I'm not sure what went wrong with the brightness, I think it's just the game. I play the game with the brightness up a bit (how it is in this video) but when I capture it, it seems to capture at the lowest brightness setting i.e. dark. So I just bumped up the brightness a tad in my video editor, and re-rendered/uploaded it.
