+Ass Mage I wouldn't be so sure. Given the options available to all characters, Lee was the one that pushed Clem the hardest. He protected her as a child. I mean he *genuinely* protected her, and not just claim to be doing something for her own good and fucking it up. Lee showed her what real sacrifice was in all his actions, instead of only calling on sacrifice when it would be others doing the sacrifice. He kept her humanity and hope alive. If not for those two, very essential things, especially in a world like that, everyone is just another McCloud family, Kenny, Carver, David and Joan in the making. At the same time, he trusted her to take risks and adjust to the world they're in. Everyone else still only saw a helpless child. Thanks to Duck's death, and Chuck, Lee didn't. In that short amount of time, before his own end, he taught her a lot about survival. Not to mention Lee could be outright ruthless when called for, then immediately snap back to being a loving father figure, but he did it the right way. The people around weren't afraid of him and he was a convicted killer that admits to the crime. So many things would have gone differently if Lee survived. Even if they ended up in the situation she and Christa were in. Christa was basically tolerating her, giving her the need to be with others. She and Lee would have been different, and even if it needed to go down the way it did for Clem to find the other group. Lee would have been looking for her and wouldn't let anyone stop him from finding her. He'd have no problem dealing with the violent group at hardware store, but he'd be smarter and more capable in doing it than Luke or Kenny's actions.

Theinen84 Did you notice the main theme. It was LEE's feats. What HE did, what HE accomplished, how HE protected her. She'd be doing less then half the stuff she's doing now because Lee would be doing most of it instead. Yeah, he wouldn't exactly hold her hand, but you and I know both know he'd still ultimately be protective of her and that would prevent from gaining the experiences she went through.

Honestly, I wholeheartedly disagree. I still find that there is very little that is redeemable about his character. But this is mostly due to Telltale being unable to write a decent character as of late. Rather than there being a gradual development in character, Gabe acts like a petulant child up until this episode. In another playthrough I watched, where Conrad is killed, Gabe all but tells Tripp and Elenor that Javi is the one that kills Conrad all because they weren't going to let him come along when they rescued David. And this happens just last episode. Nothing makes sense, and the continuity when it comes to personality just doesn't flow correctly. He suddenly sobers up and starts acting like an adult? That's not how things usually work. But still, I will agree that he's better than before. I really hated him before this episode, now I hate Elenor much more, because she is a total bitch.

Honestly this was so good. I can't even count the number of ways this season was better than season 2. The biggest one being that the characters aren't killed for cheap shock value and actually live to properly develop. Also, I think it handled Clem as a character a lot better (but that's just my opinion). Also, there's this underlining sense of hope that wasn't there in the second season. It's not just sad because the writers think despair = profound. Things actually end up working out if you dedicate yourself to fixing the corrupted, yet fortified community, which is a first out of the MANY times I've seen this trope play out in TWD media. I could go on and on, but it can all be summed up by saying that the writers of this game understood what made the first season so good.
