I've been where you were. I think most people have. It really truly hurts your soul when you feel "set up". Crying is natural response to being hurt emotionally Crying is cleansing and healing I'm happy you turned to God for clarity and comfort btw: The person who asked you out to dinner demonstrated what emotional abuse looks and sounds like. Today is my birthday and I needed to hear this today. I broke off a relationship with someone in December. He had started to make me question and doubt myself after seeing each for nearly a year. I beat myself up for wasting my time and allowing him to talk down to me or make me feel less than. He even said to me, you are full of yourself. A date is in essence an interview. We don’t see it that way, however, we are making decisions on who gets o go to the second round of interviews, who does not, and who ultimately gets the job. He is a jerk, an arrogant one at that. He wants someone that is willing to do what you are not-and that’s okay. Do not change what you want for someone else. You want better, as you should. And I’m thankful he didn’t pass your interview. My hope is that you will become okay with however you choose to express yourself and that it’s okay to not waste your time and leave when you know he doesn’t measure up. This man does not deserve to share the air you breathe.
