One of many things to point out: Rohan Kishibe is a manga producer in the series, so his outfit is actually adorned with giant fountain pen tips. Rohan was also used as the poster character for Hirohiko Araki's (the author and artist) own Jojo inspired Gucci line of clothing.

Judging the colours of a JoJo character is a wasted effort since Araki is constantly changing every character's colour pallet whenever he feels like it. Like, in one illustration Koichi has blue hair and in another he is blonde. It's a mess.

Araki doesn't do colors, his manga, like all others, are printed in black and white. There are no canon colors. Most of the color schemes you see for his characters were either created by merchandisers or fans. The people working on the anime series have come up with their own colors. Araki likes to honor all this by coloring characters however he feels when he does color them.

Giovanna is what he Italianized it to, which explains why it's a weird feminine version of Giovanni. _Jotaro_ is more Italian than Giorno. I love that stupid little fact.

I'm not sure if I just have a completely different aesthetic taste from the normal world, but I genuinely _love_ the designs for a lot of characters that Crymentia disliked. My favorite characters designs tend to be from Araki's later work, Gappy and Giorno being among my all-time favorite character designs of JoJo. I think it's just that fact that it's just so bizzare and completely different from conventional fashion trends and I've just gotten used to it's universes' fashion.

I really like the video, but judging things based on color is a bit weird here solely because JoJo doesn't have a canon color pallette. Araki followed the teachings of some artists who basically encouraged using bizarre and varied colors, and that's stuck with him since the 80's. StandingOnPluto But you can skip Parts of Jojo. For the most part everything is self contained. Yeah they have characters comeback and reference to past events but you don’t need to know everything. Not to mention Jojo explains a lot of things. Not to mention each Part kind of dips into different genres. Like, that’s one of the great things about Jojo is that you can pick up any Part and have a pretty self contained story.

Dio is just some generic evil guy with minions if you start at Part 3, Joseph forming a relationship with Josuke is meaningless and Jotaro is completely unexplained if you start with Part 4. Giornos bloodline would seem like a total asspull if you start with Part 5. Jolyne's relationship with Jotaro would be really irritating without Part 3 and 4 context of Jotaro's distant personality if you start at Part 6. That's just scratching the surface and me being vague enough to not spoil things for anyone reading this. What Im getting at is JoJo is a series about family history and relationships and all of that is meaningless without the whole story. Going out of order would be just as bad. You can absolutely start at part 7 if you really want to but without seeing the main universe counterparts of SBRverse characters you don't get to see the contrast and its less fun.

Phillip Palermo No it’s not. Harry Potter is a completely liner story. You follow the same character throughout 7 books. If you don’t know who a character is or if a story element just comes out of nowhere then you have to read the previous book because the book series expects you to have read the series up to that point. Jojo’s is a generational story that has multiple time gaps inbetween each Part that has a new cast of characters each time at the start of a new Part. And, again, they explain who the reoccurring characters are. Each new Part is a fresh start. Yes Araki probably would like you to read the other Parts but he always gives you the information you need to know that you never need to.

StandingOnPluto It is not. The great thing about Jojo is that you CAN pick it up from any Part. Unlike EVERY other long running series you don’t follow the same main characters each Part. Your always going to get new people and new setting to read. This isn’t like a long running shounen where it can start to feel completely dragged out. Yes you miss out on the feeling of getting to say “Oh! He brought this character back!” or “I get this reference.” but it doesn’t really matter in the context of the Part your reading because your always told what the relationship to this character is because even if this is supposed to be about family history and dynamics, each Part has said dynamics and history needing to be EXPLAINED to the new Part’s Jojo or they don’ want anything to do with that history. Jousuke had no idea he was tied to the Joestar’s and most people feel it’s still out of character Joseph cheated on his wife just so we could start Part 4. Speaking of Joseph he is the complete opposite to Jonathan that you have people debating if you should skip Part 1 all together or Part 2 depending on your taste in protagonist and what type of tone you want for your reading experience. Jolyne hates her father at the beginning of Part 5 because he was never their and just left them (yes for good reasons but reasons that had to be explained to us later) and Giornno is from a completely other country and his existence is just weirdness in of itself and his story is one of the most self contained out of all the Jojo’s you would follow. Also what if you don’t like the story being told our the cast of characters you got? What if you find the story boring or the main character a stupid asshole? Then your just not going to read it. And that’s fine. If you don’t like one Part you can try another. And yes, it is fun comparing the how characters were in the first universe to the new universe but that’s just for the long running fans. People just getting into it can just see those characters as their own characters instead of reimagined versions and that’s completely fine. You even have the fact people didn’t know if Part 7 was a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure because it just started out as Steel Ball Run and only later did they print the title out as what we know now. This is all to say that yes, you really can just skip Part’s. Yes you miss out in knowing things or feeling specific things but that’s more for long term fans and not for fans of just specific Parts or people just getting into it.

ok I guess I could explain this because there was a lot of questions with who was who when you were looking at the character and since I am a HUGE Jojo fan and my autism can't let these questions go unanswered I'll explain. Josuke, Okayasu, Koichi, Yukako and Rohan are all from part 4. They are all high school students looking for a serial killer in their town who is Yoshikage Kira and Kosaku Kawajiri is an identity that he takes when he is found out and he tries to get away. Rohan is the self insert of the author Araki a character who is a genius comic artist and his stand can literally let him read people like a book. Giorno Giovanna, Bruno Bruccellati, Narancia and Fugo are all from part 5, Vento Aureo, Gold Wind and Giorno's stand, Gold Experince, is a a prince reference from the album of the same name. even though it should not bug me as much as it does I will also go to mention that the stand Zipper Man's real name is Sticky Fingers which comes from a Rolling Stones album where you have to unzip the a jacket to get to the CD. All the characters from part 5 are all males with the exception of Trish and the reason why they look so fabulous is one: because it's Jojo and Two; because part 5 takes inspiration from male models and the odd homo eroticism with it at times. Also in part 5 the whole cast are a bunch of mafiosos trying to protect Trish from the main bad guy. Jolyne, Ermes, Narc Anastasia,(who's actual name is Narciso Anasui who is a guy and was going to be a girl but not sure as to why the sex of the character was changed.), Weather Forecast (who's actual name is Weather Report this is a another stupid localization choice of the English Jojo.) Father Pucci (who is Enrico Pucci) are all from part 6 where is takes place in 2011 in a prison in Florida, called Green Dolphin Street Jail, where most of the characters are named after clothing brands even one character is flat out named D&B. And yes Jolyne is the only female Jojo so far. Johnny Joestar(who is a paraplegic and that's why he can't stand.), Gyro Zepelli, Diego Brando, and Funny Valentine are from part 7 where is takes place in the wild west and most of the cast are cowboys I don't need to say more just please fucking read it if you haven't. Josuke Higashikata, Joshu Higashikata, are from part 8 that takes place after the Tohoku Tsunami in Japan in 2011 which is ongoing right now and it's pretty good. read it. TL;DR? Matt stop being a scrub read more Jojo and Warner Bros are assholes for even having Jojo. if you have more questions you can ask me and I can gush more about Jojo.

Looking at some of the other comments, I kind of want to say that even without lore explanation for all the later parts, I really enjoyed this video. In my opinion, Crymetina seems to be judging purely on fashion, so the video would be kind of the same even if she knew the context for the outfits. In the end, everything about this video was excellent and I'm excited for the next one!

Sorry, but if a someone wants to really critique a character's design, he/she should probably know what the character is all about. Like how what she said about Kira/Kosuku, she says they are nothing of interest, BUT THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE DESIGN WOMAN! He is not meant to be extravagant or flashy or even too bizzare. Criticizing designs is something not everyone can do 100% correctly and I admit, I am being a bit salty here but come on, either take everything into consideration or do nothing. Time frames, personalities, abilities and etc. They all have to be taken into consideration. We know you guys like JoJo so why this?! If you guys hadn't seen JoJo I would have been fine, bit you have and you are no newcomer. You guys did well for the most part but part 4 got completely misunderstood. If you don't know what those badges are for then don't comment on whether it just looks stupid or out of place. They are meant to be for characters recognition. Overall good vidoe, but still badly done due to the lack of knowledge

@@kalmahcarl There is no difference. Araki never asked a Fashion designer on what they thought of his designs. Therefore, his Fashion sense and designs all had to be merged and fixed to have character that even his/her clothing should tell what they are like. Therefore your point is irrelevant

I mean not really. There's a big difference between good fashion design and good character design, the former being mostly about just looking good, accentuating your figure and generally just looking appealing in a stand out way. Good character design is about telling a story with a character's appearance, making sure you can gauge how a characters acts by how the look and exploiting visual themes to elicit a certain reaction. The fashion design of Jojo is not great. If you saw someone dressed like a Jojo character (minus a few exceptions) odds are you'd point and laugh at how goofy they look. However Jojo isn't meant to be high fashion, it's meant to be absurd, over the top, ridiculously flamboyant and bizarre. To that end Iraki is near perfect at designing characters to look that way while also excelling at other character design principles and as a result the overall character design in Jojo is memorable and downright incredible.

"No difference between a character design and fashion design." That is the statement of a spoiled brat who knows the characters but knows nothing about fashion! If I wore awesome clothes designed by a team of the top designers of the world would I be an intriguing and memorable character? I doubt it. An essential part of Kira's character is his unassuming fashion choices, which makes his fashion genuinely boring in spite of being an awesome character.
