Maybe it is simply a numbers game, since there were more than one of him. 3d seat and below do have strength of gods, so there is a huge power gap between 4th and 3d seat. She might also be weakened after the war against the second. The heavenly principles sure are weaker, so it would make sense if she is weakened as well.

Personally I think she stills loves and cares for her people but it’s been twisted. Her seeking the end of the Heavenly Principals I imagine is part of that love she has, but now it’s morphed into a mentality of “The end justifies the means” scenario. Either way it will be quite the show when we finally meet her.

Whenever I think about the Tsaritsa I'm always reminded of Ei. Ei's definition of eternity changed when the cataclysm happened and she lost everyone she cared for, including much of Inazuma. She realised that change and ambition was the source of all suffering (and the Khaenriah disaster), and having experienced both, she decided that her people would be better off in an unchanging eternity free of suffering, even if it didn't allow for real happiness. She, as a god, could tolerate an eternity alone in stasis, but she didn't realise that her people couldn't. In her desire to protect them, she didn't realise that her people's lives would be meaningless without the ability to pursue their own ambition, even if it made them suffer in the end. She only accepted this, and broke free of the Heavenly Principles, when she finally understood Makoto in her story quest. So essentially, in order to protect her people from the Heavenly Principles, she brought them closer to its ideals. The Tsaritsa reminds me a lot of this. She, too, underwent a personality change but did the opposite of Ei. We're led to believe that she most likely changed from the god of love after the Khaenriah disaster, which turned her into her current cold personality. Ei's reaction to the disaster was to strengthen her ideals and bring her people closer to the Heavenly Principles, but the Tsaritsa seems to have abandoned her ideals and goes directly against the Heavenly Principles. It's like they're two sides of a coin, two different extremes. It makes me wonder, is she doing this to protect her people and the descriptions are just trying to mislead us like the Inazuma quest did at first? Or has she truly lost her previous ideal of "love" and is now engaging in a suicide mission to "burn away the old world", maybe because she decided that death would be better than letting her people live in Teyvat? It'll be interesting to see. It'll also be interesting to see what the Archon quest will look like, because every nation has had some internal problems in addition to the Fatui plot. Zhongli fake death, Venti vs abyss Dvalin, Ei vs her people, Nahida vs the sages, Furina and the prophecy. It makes me wonder, what will the Snezhnaya Archon quest look like? Are we gonna see the Abyss involved? Cause the Abyss hasn't been in an Archon quest since release, only in between Archon quests. I also wonder who we're gonna be allied with, because we are enemies of the Fatui but also enemies of Celestia, kinda. Hmm

He failed to earn the favour of his previous ruler (King Irmin) and his level of learning could not compare to the sages and therefore he failed to stop the disaster (the Cataclysm).

Here's a thought to make you pause: What is the connection between the Tsaritsa and the Traveller? There is one, and whatever it is, it is profound. We know in the game, there are no coincidences. I believe it was a Hoyo rep who said that? But in any case, we see that it's true: even the smallest of things are tied somehow to a lore point. How, then, could it possibly be a coincidence that the exact time the Traveler starts their journey is the time the Tsaritsa puts her plan into action? Why is every gnosis acquired while the Traveler is in the nation? Why did the Tsaritsa wait five centuries to enact her plan? Why is she enacting it step-by-step with our journey? -The Abyss Order chose _exactly then_ to send Dvalin against Mondstadt, not even a few months earlier or later. The Tsaritsa knew just what string to pull to get Venti to reveal himself in order to obtain his gnosis, and that string was pulled to manipulate the Abyss Order at exactly _that moment._ -The Tsaritsa's contract with Zhongli was set to unfold the moment the Traveler arrived in Liyue. -Yae Miko had the gnosis for hundreds of years, but it's only right now the Fatui make a move for it. -Nahida was trapped for five hundred years. Wouldn't have been difficult to take the Dendro gnosis from Sumeru at _any point_ during those centuries. -The Hydro gnosis has been sitting in the Opera Epiclese for over four hundred years. -It sounds like Capitano might challenge the Pyro Archon for the gnosis in combat. But not right _now,_ no. Not until the Traveler gets there. This isn't lazy worldbuilding or game mechanics. The tsaritsa has a full blooded person from the same place as the traveler he definitely let her know that the traveler and their twin was separated therefore she knew that the traveler would of course go around asking important figures questions about their sibling that’s how she’s able to easily lure every archon out because the traveler will be there to ask the archon and it’s also hence why arleccino went to fontaine and attacked furina because in order to not fool the heavenly principals she had to ensure that arleccino thought furina also held the gnosis.

From what I have collected so far : The Tsaritsa is collecting the Gnosises to revive the great dragon king(Nibelung) . Skirk stated that the Gnosises are his remnants in which I think that the celestia and the second decenders worked together in the second great war to split Nibelung after he sought powers from outside and declared the war . In conclusion after all the Gnosises are collected Nibelung will be resurrected and the real war will begin resulting in a clash between the dragon king and the Decenders.

There are some details about the harbingers that you could've included. Scaramouche: yes, he doesn't care about the fatui. He joined because to him, the fatui seems fun to be around. Both wants to "Cleanse the sources of distortion in this world: short-sighted, ignorant gods and the darkness and corruption of the Abyss." (source: pale flame flower)

Honestly hope the Tsaritsa is a god of something else like celestia chose a god title for her but she chose to be a god of love because thats how her people saw her. It would be interesting to have more info on how a god chooses their belief/principle/philosophy since its literally the very foundation of each nation's culture and way of life. I am a bit too invested in the Tsaritsa tbh. She still acts benevolently towards her people, so I'm very curious as to why she'll suddenly change herself. I'm predicting that in the new world where no god rules, she should have no place as the 'Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya'. But if her people still value or care about her, she would probably provoke her people to rise up against her 'tyranical rule' which would honestly be easy with the Fatui's reputation. And I want the Fatui being branded as 'the bad guys' to be something they did intentionally. To prepare the nations for a war they'll need a common enemy to prepare against. So the Fatui was created to prepare for every situation against their war with Celestia, including making sure the other nations aren't blind sided suddenly with another war. But there are probably hopes destined to wither and die

Based on the info we have rn, it seems that her ideal changed from love (most likely) to something else five hundred yrs ago. Childe says she “hardened” and Scaramouche said she’s trying to compensate for something/her love is a “sin”, but more importantly Dainsleif said she has “no love LEFT” and Zhongli (when taking about the other archon’s ideals) stopped talking about her’s as if it wasn’t true anymore. My bet is that she’s now the god of hate/grief (the opposite of love), the god of revolution/revenge/rebellion (her rebellion against celestia) or the god of destruction (based on the hindu god of destruction “Shiva” who “destroyed the world to reconstruct it” which the Cryo gemstone is named after, kinda similar to the tsaritsa’s plans)

i genuinely believe most harbingers are loyal to tsaritsa and love her( or have a positive view on her) just by the way they talk about her, we know most fatui harbringers are straight forqard and rarely lie and they always give their opinion without caring if you get offended or not , just the way they describe her and talk about her even scaramouche doesn't really insult him and just how pierro describe her "absolute peace such is the gift from tsaritsa such is her benevolence" or even la singora she truly hates all the gods but when it comes to tsaritsa she always respects her "The Tsaritsa's benelovence has no place for transgressors!"

I will pull for her because she saved Dottore from his unjust exile from the Akademiya/Sumeru. ❤ He simps her hard, but I understand it. I'd be extremely grateful to someone who saved me like that, in fact, I am. Someone saved me in just the same way, and I love him dearly. Edit: You're 100% wrong about Dottore, the Fatui only have the best resources, etc. BECAUSE OF DOTTORE HIMSELF. Granted, the Tsaritsa/Fatui did grant him the opportunity to research whatever subject matter he desired (within reason), but more than that, you are forgetting Dottore was exiled from the rainforest and basically banished to the Desert, his academic career was over due to his being expelled from the Akademiya, most likely on some sort of corrupt grounds given what we've seen of them, and it was the Tsaritsa who basically gave him a place to belong and a purpose/renewed his dream and believed in his abilities. For this reason, Dottore is intensely loyal to the Fatui, as we see from his reluctance to gamble with Nahida in a way that would endanger Snezhnaya/the Fatui were the Heavenly Principles to be awakened, from the way one of his Segments speaks of the Tsaritsa (conversation with Tighnari at Pardis Dhay), and the fact he immediately surrenders the two Gnoses that he collects from Nahida (conversation overheard from the two Fatui in Mond after Sumeru's AQ.) He does not have a rational reason to follow the Fatui, given he was too young to witness the Cataclysm unlike older Harbingers like Pierro and Signora, and to our knowledge shares no direct connection to any figures relevant to it unlike Scaramouche and likely Columbina, but he certainly has an emotional one, that being the closest thing to recognition and a sense of belonging Zandik's ever had. He even says so in the Sumeru AQ finale, that he attempted to reintegrate into Sumeru City twice after his exile and was rejected (thus, "not interested in being rejected by this city a **third** time, meaning he attempted twice to return, and it is very clear from his dialogue and various junctures of the AQ that he misses Sumeru dearly, whilst he is grateful to the Tsaritsa for harbouring him, he does not feel like he fits in Snezhnaya and doesn't like the cold/finds it difficult to adjust to life there [Port Ormos hallucination/projection of the Fatui Agents discussing Dottore's mannerisms becoming like those of Sumeru people so quickly and commenting he'll likely have a difficult time readjusting to life in Snezhnaya -- these were figments of Zandik's subconscious, but they do say a lot without saying a lot: despite his loyalty to the Tsaritsa, there is a missing component in his life, and that is, his homeland, which Zandik longs for after all this time.]) In Snezhnaya, despite being somewhat respected as a Fatui Harbinger (I say somewhat because we do see some of his subordinates, namely the alkie Dr. Fronkoonstein, directly oppose Zandik's orders out of jealousy [line from a Fatui Skirmisher, saying it's 'pure jealousy,' which I agree with, we see it again in the Akademiya and I would not be surprised if this happens to him regularly, some people are just haters, but regardless, he is a rootless foreigner in Snezhnaya and his heart is in Sumeru, I would not at all be shocked if he received a Cryo vision given this conflict he has between his rational and emotional side, at some point] doesn't quite have that sense of belonging, which is the thread that hangs in the air re: his possible return to Sumeru and redemption. Anyway, you're wrong saying that Zandik is only in the Fatui for himself, nothing could be further from the truth. Zandik seeks to help humanity overcome its limitations and be less reliant on the gods, for humanity to have powers that are not connected to Celestia, the Abyss, or the Dragon Sovereigns, but to contol elemental powers and the wonders of nature themselves, through the use of technology and the manipulation of natural phenomena (i.e. the controllable dream.) He does have a bit of an obsession with weapons, but I speculate it must be because he may have been targeted a lot as a child, it's like someone who was bullied as a kid becoming a MMA/gun/etc. enthusiast as an adult, it happens all the time. But yeah, Zandik's vision for humanity (elevating humans to be on par with the gods, rather than at their mercy, and uncovering the truth of this world) is directly aligned with the Tsaritsa's own and her interests, so he absolutely has even a rational motive for being in the Fatui, but just as so, Zandik is a human being, and he has complexity, as we see. He does not like all the missions he's been given, even if he makes light of them, like it was not in his plan to kill Niwa [it was supposed to be Scaramouche who died in the furnace, and for a moment you can see the troubled expression on Zandik's face before he does what he does, the hesitation, I really hate Pierro for putting him in that spot to begin with, but when you're a Harbinger, you have to do what you are told, and Zandik/Dottore is definitely one of the more hardcore Harbingers, likely because he feels heavily indebted to the Tsaritsa/Pierro for having saved him from certain death. I mean, the man was being chased with pitchforks and clubs in his own hometown, we don't even know what happened to his family, what the circumstances were for his exile or if they were fair [likely, they were not, considering what we've seen them do to other scholars, and the culture of bullying and plagiarism in the Akademiya], etc. There are many unanswered questions to the human component of Dottore, yet even with what we DO have, he isn't this one-dimensional being who only cares about his experiments, that much has been made abundantly clear many times over, though of course his research is very important to him, there is another side to him as well, a more vulnerable and emotional side, that explains in part why he is so devoted to the Fatui. His Segment's voice when speaking of the Tsaritsa is also very much sincere, he places a hand on his heart and looks into the distance almost longingly, so yeah, I would say that can be trusted considering he has no reason to lie, and Dottore isn't the sort of person to lie unless there's a strategic need for him to do so. (He's not above doing so, but he views it as a last resort and would rather do things honestly rather than through either deception or force, as we see re: the Gnoses with Nahida, where he even says 'how can you be sure I really erased them?' and Nahida says he has remaining honesty, meaning Dottore would not just lie for the sake of lying -- and he did, in fact, erase his Segments as promised, and even gave us valuable information in exchange for the Dendro Gnosis, when he could have easily taken it by force had he truly wished to, given how weak Nahida is. People do not give him enough credit for that, and generally misunderstand him, partly due to his Manhua segment [who very obviously is not the same person, they don't even have similar personalities, they just share the same codename but the whole redesign/aging him up clearly was meant to symbolise the fact they're very different people/we further see variance re: Segments with Omega's remarks about him being the more selfish Segment, more pleasant Segments in other parts of the AQ, and with Zandik himself, we see a more innocent and tender side of him in Sohreh's notes, where she and he clearly had a thing for each other/he talked about what she wanted to talk about all day, which for someone as rigid as Zandik, is a pretty huge marker of affinity, as he's not the kind to entertain small/meaningless talk even now, lol.) Because like another commenter mentioned, Tsaritsa means "wife of the Tsar". What if she was another "god" or even a mortal who fell in love with the Tsar , and something happened to him and so she inherited his station and his gnosis. Perhaps he did something Celestia didn't like so they struck him down. That was the first strike and that started the fracturing of her heart, and the destruction of Khaenri'ah just shattered it completely.

In my opinion Pierro is a reincarnation of a cryo sovereign who just chose to live normally as a human, he has a power comparable to gods afterall as nahida said that the first ranked harbingers 1-3 got a power comparable to gods. We know nothing of Pyro and Cryo sovereign, Pierro recruited Captain as the 1st associate so maybe they both are the sovereigns, despite captain being called the strongest human (nobody knows that Neuvilette is sovereign either cuz everytime someone got to know about sovereigns he got removed from the world by celestia) so there is a possibility that he is the pyro Sovereign and Pierro being the Cryo one. They both got a motive against celestia and maybe the case is that they are mad cuz of the power that was stolen from them.

Scaramouche (in the Sumeru Interlude Chapter) mentions Pierro (The Jester) being a Royal Mage in Khaenri'ah and also that he lived with our sibling for a while, and the Pale Flame Circlet mentions that his level of learning could not be compared with the sages and that he failed to earn the favour of the previous ruler (King Irmin) and therefore failed to stop the disaster (the Cataclysm) so I doubt that he's a sovereign, but that would be interesting.

Childe joined because of the hold the rooster has on his family it is implied. He already introduced Teucer to the traveller to have him has backup in the future. The Rooster is in it for the glory of Snesznaya he might be only one that actually cares about the nation. Since most of them are from other parts of Theyvat originally. He wants to use the army Alain Guilotin created in order to seize control over all the nations. Columbina is extremely hard to place I do believe she might be the offspring of the Seelie and the traveller from a far told as such she was in Theyvat at the very beginning and she probably never communicates with the other Harbingers. She sings to Signora who joined Fatui because of her dying love if Columbina cares about her could hint that she had a similar fate. Dottore is also hard to place in terms of motivation most likely is that he wants to discover all the secrets of Theyvat and advance himself. Arlecchino is also extremely hard to place I don't think she is human it should be revealed with Cater that way we can confront her. I am fairly certain that she set up the kidnapping of Lyney and Lynette and once that is revealed they will leave her, and she will reveal her true self. Lyney and Lynette joined Arlecchino because she took care of them, but if that happened only so she could recruit them, I don't feel like they will forgive or forget they may play an important part in the future.

Dottore DEFINITELY gives a damn about what the Tsaritsa is doing, did you fall asleep during the Sumeru Archon Quest? We even get to hear him talk about the Tsaritsa and he speaks of her wistfully, almost longlingly. Also, Childe did not detect that Dottore had any kind of agenda, and if Dottore wasn't so loyal to the Fatui, he wouldn't be trusted with its research and missions. You're wrong that he is "out for himself," you tragically misunderstand this beautiful character, and I am not even sure if you're aware of Dottore's backstory at all, at least what we know of it. The people who have the best resources especially when it comes to research are the Akademiya/Sumeru, and the best technology right now is a toss-up between Snezhnaya and Fontaine. However, we do not know whether Snezhnaya always had good technology, or if the Fatui and Snezhnaya currently enjoy such technological riches because of Dottore specifically, it is not clear and won't be until we get to Snezhnaya, given we rarely see any NPCs and the topic of technology doesn't come up even when we do, we just know they're technologically advanced due to an Inazuman NPC dialogue saying so, and the Fatui mobs we fight all using some type of tech, particularly so the soldiers. Dottore was expelled from the Akademiya and exiled from Sumeru, he was outcast and left to die in the desert, for reasons we do not yet know. His hometown tried to kill him with pitchforks and clubs, so it was more than a simple exile, and we do not know if his ousting was even fair in the first place, we have seen how corrupt the Akademiya can be, and we know he unsuccessfully tried to appeal his exile twice, when he says he has "no interest in being rejected by this city a third time." It makes me sad to think about it, because it is clear Sumeru means so much to him, and his relationship is very conflicted, because his research also means so much to him, and due to the Akademiya's stupid rules, which even Faruzan agrees are overkill, he was an outcast and had to conduct research in secret, even though he wasn't doing anything wrong or bad, just curious about the old ruins and ancient civilisations/their technological prowess, that's like persecuting someone because they have an interest in WWII or something. In any case, he was exiled to the desert, and the Tsaritsa was the one who saved him, recruiting him into the Fatui by sending Pierro, which allowed Zandik a second chance at life, after it became clear he was no longer welcome in Sumeru. We know the desert is dangerous, and unless they stick very closely to Aaru, anyone who doesn't have a vision or isn't a professional mercenary is basically signing a death sentence, and it is dangerous sometimes even with those conditions met. (This is also probably why Dottore learned to pick up a claymore.) We see he longs for his homeland in the Sumeru AQ, but also that he is genuinely loyal to the Fatui and Dottore is selfless, both willing to sacrifice himself (literally, his Segments) in exchange for the Electro Gnosis and not awakening the heavenly principles, so he places the Fatui even above his own personal research, which took him much time and resources (as he remarks upon destroying them, yet he does so without a second thought.) He brings back the Gnoses without delay, and gives Nahida intel pertinent to us, that Dottore hand-picked himself, so he gave us legitimately useful information, the fandom really doesn't credit this man enough. Arlecchino, on the other hand, is Fatui intelligence and despite saving her from being dissolved, she gave us nothing. Anyway, Dottore DOES sincerely believe in the Tsaritsa's cause, he believes humanity can rise to become strong as the gods and that technology can make humans great, basically. That's where his interest in ancient civilisations and their technology/knowledge stems from, he doesn't just do things for the lulz like his manhua segment, who should be treated as an entirely different person because, as far as canon goes, they technically are (even the massive redesign communicates as much.) He DOES sincerely respect her and he serves her faithfully, not running off like Scaramouche did, and immediately bringing her not one, but two Gnoses. Dottore would know that Celestia had a hand in halting every civilisation that thrived/had interesting technology, and that they must be brought down for humans to have those periods of what he considers greatness again. So, his goals and those of the Tsaritsa are thusly aligned. The only problem is that he misses Sumeru, and he is still exiled from there, that's the sole conflict he has re: the Fatui, as well as the missions they've given him making him jaded and not at peace with himself, as we learn from the Sumeru AQ cutscene. But anyway, I just wanted to tell you that you're wrong about Dottore and don't seem to understand him. He certainly cares about his research, but he will risk even that for the sake of the greater good, in this case, the Fatui, he is a greater good/ends justify the means kind of guy, who has noble goals and grand ideals, but not always the best methods, and whose heart is torn between the home he longs to return to and serving the nation that saved him, but put a pinion on him all the same, in that no matter what he chooses at present, he loses: in Snezhnaya, he haas his research, but no sense of belonging, as he finds it very alienating (his consciousness remarks it will be difficult for him to return to Snezhnaya, and that he looked way too happy for someone on a business trip/was starting to sound like the locals again. This implies he normally isn't a happy person, and that part of his unhappiness is being in this cold, distant land, though it is the land that gave him a second chance at life all the same. If he chooses Sumeru, he is in his homeland, but exiled to the desert, without being able to pusue his precious knowledge or research, once again, a caged bird. So, he made his choice accordingly, and threw his lot with the Tsaritsa, since he tried to return to Sumeru City unsuccessfully twice, and they nearly killed him when whatever went down happened.... That's a very tragic story, but Dottore very clearly is grateful to have a fresh start, which is why he became a Harbinger, and not just a scientist [we see the Fatui have many scientists, yet Dottore was offered the position of Harbinger, which he's successfully maintained, he isn't just given carte blanche for his research, he has to produce results and even do things unrelated to his research in any way, like the mission to Tatarasuna Pierro sent him on. He's a real one, 100%, unless something happens where he can return to the Akademiya/Sumeru, he will remain with the Fatui, since his research is the other most important thing to him, though I am sure he also feels indebted to the Tsaritsa for having saved him, considering he did exactly as she asked, even at his own personal expense in destroying his Segments for her cause.

Something I still don't get is...why did she waited 500 years? Up to a certain point I get it, Sumeru was going crazy for the birth of Kusanali, in Mondstand Venti would never agree on giving the Gnosis (He has his reasons), and Natlan probably was at a big war after Murata's death, but what about other nations? She could have made the contract with Rex lapis earlier, or make negotiations during those 500 years, or even talk to Focalors and get into alliance and give her the gnosis after the Fontaine crisis, and since Ei wanted to get rid of the gnosis, talking to her/the shogun would have been a good plan (Since at this point, she still doesn't even create Wanderer). Maybe there are reasons that my tiny brain can't process, but hope we get our answers between one or two years from now on!

I do think that the Traveler’s journey might be a key part of the Tsaritsa’s plan, but there’s too little information about that for now, not even enough to make proper coherent speculations. I haven’t finished all the quests so forgive me if I’m wrong, but during his archon quest Zhongli says that he had only recently thought about stepping down (after hearing someone at the port saying smth like ‘I’ve done my job, let’s go home and rest’). I doubt that signora or any harbinger could have made a contract/confronted Zhongli before that moment. Liyue was thriving, especially under the influence of Ningguang&co. For the past millennia he kept watch over his nation and now he realised that his endless sacrifices weren’t needed anymore. Many of the beings that had accompanied him throughout the centuries had been/were being affected by ‘erosion’ (Azhdaha, the teapot to keep adepti safe from erosion etc..), and just like him they could benefit from stepping down from their roles. Plus everything that happened in Mondstadt. The only clause in his contract was “if no one can step forward to protect Liyue then I will not give up the gnosis”, and he was more than satisfied with the qixing’s performance. As for focalors, due to the nature of her plan to deceive the Heavenly Principles she had kept herself hidden from everyone. I haven’t done the Sumeru archon quest yet but it seems like the passing down of the archon position isn’t necessarily instantaneous or a very flashy event, allowing Focalors to use Furina as her stand-in. The fatui and Arlecchino might have doubted that Furina was the true archon, but they had no idea where or who the true archon was (Lyney snooping around the oratrice mechanique d’analyse cardinale), and therefore they couldn’t really make any deals. As for Raiden, before the traveler went to Inazuma, her ultimate goal was to get as close to the Heavenly Principles as possible, an ideology completely opposite to the one of the Tsaritsa. There could have been no negotiations with her, she has seen first hand the devastating consequences of going against the Heavely Principles and was deeply traumatised by them. That genshin trailer only showed the most prominent characters of each of the future archon quests (ex: Ayaka, Cyno, Lyney/Lynette) not the archons
