I have a confusion First u said we can use cold therapy to increase muscle contraction in muscles whose nerves are intect then after u said it also inhibit muscle contraction by inhibiting G-motor neuron kindly explain does it have duel effect ??

Yes ice has dual effects depends on how you use it It can both increase or decrease muscle tone. You will get to know more about this in your fourth year when you will study Rood’s approach

Ma'am u said that we give cryotherapy in acute cases and heat therapy in chronic cases. Can u please explain the reason

Hello thanks for contacting so basically in acute injuries there is presence of inflammation and we have to reduce that by applying ice(vasoconstriction effect) because heat can exaggerate that condition by increasing circulation whereas in chronic conditions there is stiffness, adhesions and heat can increase the elasticity of connective tissue , increase circulation and thus helpful in subacute or chronic cases
