👍, this exact topic in regards to USDT has been playing on my mind for years now. This is something Gensler should of dealt with earlier on in the piece instead of hitting the low fruit and XRP. With any luck tether is quietly dismantled, not blown up or a resolution.However, the usual panic will probably take place. IMO, it's the last piece of the puzzle. USDC, IS the defacto CBDC. If Tether is hit, the impact on DEX's will be unbelievable.

I still don't understand how taking down a stable coin like tether can "nuke" the crypto market. People can purchase crypto using any form of fiat currency, and the intrinsic value of, say bitcoin, is independent of them means with which it's bought (tether or fiat)

well if nearly all crypto trades are done with stablecoins and USDT is by far the biggest and it goes under, that takes nearly all the crypto market with it because no one using USDT will be able to execute their trades. All the profits from regular trades I take are in USDT, if that goes down I lose all those profits. It would also do massive damage to the US economy and hence world economy too.
