Always appreciate your content. Keep up the great work. I have noticed that there is a disproportionate number of videos on how to setup wallets and move digital assets into wallets. What is needed are videos showing the proper way to take profits from a wallet and move them into fiat in a bank account. If you would create a video showing how to do that, that would be a must see video and possibly a first of its kind.

Great point! Over the last year or so, I've always tried to make it a point to show not only how to fund the wallet, but how to transfer crypto out of the wallet. As far as when to take profits, that's more of a trading issue. I try to stay out of that kind of advice.

@@anthonyputorek7095 well, as far as banks go, there aren’t too many that will accept crypto directly at least not yet. If you’re looking to cash out, your best option is a cryptocurrency exchange like Coinbase or Kraken. You can connect your bank account to those exchanges so that when you make trades for cash, you can withdraw directly to your bank.

Hello Crypto Dad. :-) Thank you for the great videos. The attention to detail is great. One of my concerns with setting up tangem with 3 cards is being able to actually test a scenario where I would have to use my backup cards. Would you be able to create a video showing how to replicate a scenario where for example one loses or has the their primary card stolen and now has to use their backup card(s) to actually get back to their crypto currencies. I personally don't use the new optional seed phrase with the 2.0 but I am presume the two different recovery scenarios (with seed phrase & without) would be similar . Thank and again much appreciated for the educational content you are providing all of us.

You can easily test out your backup card simply by using one to authorize an outgoing transaction. They will work just like your primary card.

Only the new card supports the backup and restore feature with the seed phrase. The older cards don't have that feature.

There's a new version of the tangent app. that. includes transaction history. Although I'm not sure if there's a way to export that or not. I know it's a bit tedious, but you can go to the blockchain explorers to get your transaction history for any of the cryptos that you set up.

You cannot create multiple accounts within each crypto. There's only one account for each crypto. When you set up the seed phrase it's very similar to the non seed phrase setup. You simply sync the cards up. You don't have to enter the seed phrase. You simply write it down when it's presented to you. And yes, you can see the total value of your portfolio at the top.

I was able to restore a blank Tangem card using a 24 word recovery phrase from a different wallet. And it worked. I don't have any wallets that use 18 word recovery phrases. But I'm pretty sure it's possible.

Since you can set up seed phrase, can you only use one card for a wallet? And use the 2nd card as a completely different wallet? So you have 2 seed phrases/wallets?

Security issues with Ledger then my first choice was Tangem but since it was sent from outside EU i was concerned about tax so got an Trezor i dont like the desin but it's secure like Tangem.

The best part about this is style of wallet is not needing to be at a computer to transact. I hate that about my ledger nano s. I can only go about my trades when I have my computer in front of me. feels very early 2000s. whereas I never leave the house without my wallet and my phone. so having a tangem card with me means I’m always about to make crypto transactions. securely. anywhere…. brilliant.

No you can't.. And cloud mining is usually a scam. They just want you to pay a monthly fee.

There's not a huge risk, because the app is secure. There are technologies that companies like Apple use such as client side scanning. But this is generally reserved for messaging apps. proton.me/blog/why-client-side-scanning-isnt-the-answer It wouldn't hurt to turn off your Wi-fi and cellular data while you're generating and writing down your seed phrase. You could even remove the SIM card during this process to increase your offline security.

​@@CryptoDadmany people seem to think hardware wallets are infallible, but even if the key is generated and located on the chip, if you have to sign a transaction like you would with ledger, at that point that key is communicated with the dex for example, so if the dex is not safe, they could drain your hardware wallet, right? Thank you. P.S.: I would think the only way a hardware wallet could be completely safe is to never sign anyhing with them. Just use them to access funds, and just sent funds directly to other wallets (not interacting with dexes or anything).

You'll be able to use your card(s) for day to day access. The seed phrase is only a backup in case you lose your entire card set. In that case, you'll buy a brand new set and use the seed to restore.

Hey Rex, Here is the scenario: If I set the Tagem 2.0 with the seed phrases. Then I decided to enter my Ledger seed phrases. Do you think the Tagem 2.0 will pull that wallet from the Ledger, assuming the number of seed phrases is the same 12 or 24? Question - Do you think this will work?

It should work. I was. able to do a restore using a 24 word recovery phrase. But I'm not sure about all of the derivation paths. You may not be able to see every crypto you had stored on your ledger device, but you should see the major ones. However, I believe the card is more compatible with seed phrases generated from other Tangem wallets.

Why do that, no sense, if you don't trust Ledger and you use some phrase that is make on Ledger device on Tangem, that's like you didn't do any changes, it's better stay on Ledger then or make new phrase on Tangem.

I'm not a tax accountant. But it's my understanding that only crypto trades are taxable. Transferring Crypto from one place to another is not a taxable event.

Is it possible to use one of three cards to use as a separate wallet, so I can use that card for connecting airdrops etc which will only have a small amount of crypto?

It's possible, but not really recommended. When you initialize the first card, the setup process is going to oblige you to create your other two backup cards. (if you have a 3 card set) This is how the card sets were intended to be used. It is possible to factory reset one of your backup cards, then from there attempt to set it up as new or do a restore. But this is a little bit tricky. The cards were really intended to be used as a set. So if you need more than one wallet, then perhaps you could spring for a 2 card set, which isn't really that expensive. Tangem wants the cards to be safe and easy to use, so they don't really recommend trying to split up card sets to be used as standalone wallets. They don't want a user to screw up this process and end up losing their crypto.

Yes, the new Tangem cards allow you to do a restore using a 24 word seed phrase, if you want to. Not sure if the Tangem supports every single crypto that you might be managing with your ledger device, though. You might want to do a side by side comparison.

The app is open Source so you can see that there are no back doors. But if you want to increase your security, you could put the phone in airplane mode and turn off your Wi-Fi during the process.

Using their phrase seems OK to you - but I really REALLY do NOT want a seed phrase chosen for me!! I would not have bought a Tangem wallet had I known I had to use their seed phrase!I Do I have any options? I do not have a previous seed phrase from another wallet so I don't think I can use the import option.
