When price opens within the previous day value area, of the volume profile, 97% of the time it goes towards the point of control. His entry was at value area high, but you can add your own style. There aren’t multiple examples, just one. If you choose to watch, 2x the speed You’re welcome

So I’ve been trading this setup LIVE on the ES and it works flawlessly, as long as you use key levels, and some confirmation like price action or order flow, as you mentioned. Absolutely unreal! It’s hard to believe it has a strike rate that consistent (90% for me). I’m currently back testing it on other major futures markets like CL, RTY, NQ, TN, and possibly the Dow Jones. So far with my tests (I prefer to do at least 100 days where the setup presents itself to get a decent chunk of data) I’m getting upwards of 80% win rate. It’s also worth mentioning that I may be missing little details, or being overly loose with my rules on entry - which would bring my win rate down. Overall, this is absurdly good and I thank you for sharing this tidbit. I haven’t gotten to study other strategies you’ve shared yet but I’ve watched the videos. I will gladly report back on results from testing any other strategies you are kind enough to share with us. Thanks so much, Korbs!

@@xJammz Yeah after putting this into action in the market conditions now, it’s completely unprofitable on every single futures ticker. Any time we open in range in value, price instantly taps POC and moves away, meaning there’s no time to even get your entry. This guy is a clown. Stay far away.

Very interesting set-up! I assume the 97% statistic is that if we open in range in value in the ES, there's a 97% probability that we'll tag the naked VPOC from the prior session before market close. If that's the case, this set-up would seem to be applicable not only to fades but also to inside-out trades targeting the prior naked POC after a definitive test in the opposite direction causes a reversal in the direction of the POC.

@korbstrading4 жыл бұрын

I don't agree. The time shown indicates the beginning of a candle. It means that the time of the last 5 min candle in the session should show 15:55 and the time of the first after market candle is 16:00. By the way, it's not only my opinion, every system that I've checked (tradingview, interactive brokers..) show one less candle than you.

Stage Crew great question. This backtesting is different than what you are probably used to. Main stream ideas of backrest and fairly useless. This testing showed that when we open in range in value, 97% of the time we will revisit the naked POC during that session. It is raw date, not a specific setup. I stressed the idea in this video that we cannot run out with that info alone and make consistent money. However that is incredible useful information to be aware of and with that I built a system. Hey Korbs, really enjoying your Vol Profile videos! Big question though. In a (basically) 24 hr market like ES, CL, RTY, etc., why do you setup your Volume Profile with the 830am (CST) market open? Or, to put it another way, when I setup 2 charts side by side (one displaying the overnight session and one not) the POC and value areas are (obviously) quite different. Before realizing that you had your charts setup using the day session only, I was using the full overnight session and I was noticing that the POC and VAs were clearly being respected. Can you shed some light on this please?...... or even possibly make another video discussing the differences and values of each? Thanks!
