Look, I get these companies want a product with their logo on the outside but to me, this makes no sense. You want this device to be as inconspicuous as possible. Why advertise to the lay man that this is potentially valuable by having "crypto" laser etched on the outside. I would never buy this for that reason alone.

#1 You should also be using a passphrase. #2The device should never be accessible to other people. If it is, you've failed. Seriously though, it's really easy to hide.

What I guess you dont understand is that this is to protect you against fire, water, etc. Many people are still writing their seed phrases on paper or even worse, taking pictures of their seed phrases and storing them online. If someone gets ahold of this backup regardless of logo, website, phone numbers or whatever... the point is moot. Someone already has your seed phrase and you are done. Store it in a place that you would keep any valuable item, like a Rolex watch. Would someone not steal your valuable watch if you were to put some tape over the Rolex name? -Hg

Since there are two plates, You think it would be wise to keep the plates in seperate locations from each other? I'm new to crypto.

Hello Anthony, it is best to keep them together. The outside of the plates is what offers the protection againt fire and other damage. I also put a small lock on mine to offer just a bit more added protection from quick glances and even a photo. Good luck and im here if you need further help. -Hg

There aren't any hold to place a lock like the Billfodl (kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3_PdIeMe6qlpJI) does but you can place tamper-proof stickers on it.

Super creative, secure, and well designed. But problem is that it only secures 1-2 seed phrases depending on how many words, some are 12 words instead of 24. And it’s $130 for it as well. I have many crypto related accounts and they all have seed phrases, and I’m not boutta cop so many of these lol

This is a good solution for your main cold wallet backup. An option is to get a cold wallet that works with all of your tokens/coins and use that 1 wallet for most of your needs. I used to have various wallets but I found it to be a bit to much when it came to accountability as well as security. But everyone's needs are different so always do what works best for you. Yes, it's just a piece of metal. My question to you is, why would you be traveling with your seed phrase? This item should be locked up in a very safe place and only accessed if and when you need to transact and no longer have your seed phrase configured in the wallet that you use to transact.

@@NTCReviews I am nomad , i have no family members and I can't leave things behind, wherever I go I travel with my all necessary things currently I keep seed phrase in encoded in a paper , but I was just worried if from now I keep this metal plates , would it be problem while in airport security checks , that's my intentions

It makes sense now. I've travelled with them to Europe a few times. I've brought various backup devices over there to share with friends and even create some reviews for the seed phrase backups. They were unused but out of the packaging so customs and TSA wouldn't have known the difference. No one blinked twice as I went through security each time. However, you bring a freaking cork screw with you by accident and hell breaks loose. 😅 I admire your lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.

I'm with you Sal, it's not cheap. But to me, it's still the best solution for peace of mind. I had a flood this year that destroyed my paper backups. Up until then, I wasn't fully sold. You should have one or two main wallets. the ohters are cold wallets that hold crypto temporarily. if you are using your main $ wallet for everytyhing, you are going to lose your money. you do not use your ledger for anything but storing funds. send $ to your hot / browser / app wallet .. buy your crypto.. now send it back to your ledger or trezor or whatever you won. Never use your hardware wallet to make transactions. for traders, you use a cex or dex anyways. the security risk is huge if you dont do this. and this is howmost get hacked.

Hello Josh, why do you think TSA would have an issue with a solid piece of stainless steel? I say that because I have travelled extensively with other objects that I would feel, would be subjected to much more scrutiny. This is a piece of metal that can, theoretically, cause no harm. 2nd question would be, why would you be traveling with your cold wallet back up? If you are only traveling, one way to a permanent residence, then you can just carry your seed phrase on a piece of paper; while on the plane. Once you are at your destination, you can then transfer it to your CRYPTOTAG -that is in your checked luggage- -Hg

Easily... it's a standard BIP39 word list that can be found in countless places, both on and offline. It is not a proprietary standard list put out by Cryptotag.

Are the black lines and lettering on the template printed on there or indented in? If this burns will that fade off? I'm torn between this and Thor. I feel like Thor might be safer since you're punching letters in? If it burns the lines can go away and it will not matter.

Hello Johnny, I don't see any issues with fading. They have tested these units in extreme conditions and they held up just fine. I do not have any experience with the Thor but I also like the Billfodl. Hello Christoper, the pool of words is pulled from BIP39 which is a standard; not CRYPTOTAG specific. If anyone gets your cold storage backup, they will have access to your account. Same as if they got access to the piece of paper that you originally wrote those 24 words on. With the benefit of being your own bank comes the added responsibility. That is why I added cold wallet backups. -Hg

If i get this right anybody has access to the BIP39 list. So if they get hands on your cold storage plates they can get your complete password. Am I Correct. The only advantage of these plates is fireproof, etc ?

If the tool can make a hole in the number units, it means that the tool can destroy the whole thing. Are you sure it is bullet proof? A bullet seems much powerful than the tool you used to make a hole in it.

Hello Xiaoke, it doesn't fully make a hole when you punch out the numbers, it is more of a dent. Once the backup is closed, it is reinforced with the thicker metal, further protecting the shards. As far as bullet proof, I haven't tried it of course, but that is a claim that the company makes and after holding this wallet backup, I would tend to agree. -Hg

I'm with you Richard but they did shoot it with a G19 9mm @10m. The round didn't penetrate and the seed phrase was still fully recoverable. That's relatively bulletproof for me. Now... if you want to go full Rambo on it, well that isn't going to help anyone's retirement account and 7.62 is pricier than gold these days. ;-) Semper Fi. -Hg
