I loved this game years ago. It holds up pretty well and is still a benchmark for graphics. It looks really good on Switch. Maybe not as good as PC but what can you expect. Its still beautiful 😍

I was having trouble with the gyro controls for the first hour or so. I was thinking that they'd work like Splatoon, but they do not. I've been using the procontroller and the gyro aiming works as if you are shooting bullets out of the USB-C charging input.

Actually playing Crysis at the moment. Never played it before. Currently up to the 3rd level and apart from the occasional slowdown. It's been really enjoyable. So far no crashes. Must be one of the lucky ones

This game has been really fun. Can tell it's an older game story-wise. But still really technically impressive. My only issues are the gyro controls aren't great and the crashes that can occur when you play for hours on end. Otherwise great port and pretty good game. Hopefully a patch later will improve it further.

Currently playing on Xbox One S and unless I'm mistaken, the Switch version has much stronger ambient occlusion and bounce lighting. I'm seeing quite a bite of bounce lighting / global illumination in this version and barely see any in the X Box version. Weird! Isn't Switch supposed to be less powerful? Maybe that was something they eliminated during the prep for the PC / X Box / Ps4 launch?

It's been recently patched again and I can tell you it's good and landscapes are full of grass, bush, trees. The guns look great! The problems are low res textures and the lighting is sub par. Still, the Switch should do better.

the visibility of the red dot makes the game unplayable. If you are inside aiming outside, the brightness makes the dot invisible. Also smoke effects block the red dot, making it impossible to track players.

Alex, no one has mentioned that if you invert the Y-axis it will invert the motion controls making gyro aiming unusable for those with this preferred control scheme. They aren't the first to do this but it is still extremely frustrating.

Glad youentioned that little detail. Resident Evil Revelations has that issue also. For a while a got used to being up=up but it through me off for any other FPS I prefer inverted Y-axis on. Not buying this until they fix it.

I watched this before deciding to drop the $30 on it. I know you pointed out the issues but MY GOD ITS UNPLAYABLE. The controls make it extremely hard to move/jump as intended. If anyone readinf this is also debating it- let my $30 save you from wasting yours. Damn thing is an anxiety machine.

Wow, this video is, more positive than I would have imagined but then, it's a Nintendo Life review so...yeah. I played Crysis on PC and the two key reasons I bought the Switch version were due to the reports that the frame rate was fairly consistent (it's not but to be fair I think it's more of a frame pacing issue) and the game supports gyro aiming (it sucks). The game feels sluggish and clumsy (also due to the controls). The controls are terrible and yes I did turn off auto aim while keeping gyro on. Gyro aiming needs its own slider for sensitivity. Why this wasn't included is beyond me. The slider that is present is for the right analog stick which doesn't help with accuracy at all. You can even see the problems in this video. Notice how at times, camera movement is erratic as if the deadzone on the analog stick simply won't allow for smooth navigation or turning. In other instances, it looks like the right analog stick is being flicked because of how the camera jerks from one position to another. As if the player simply can't gauge movement to more naturally get the camera to face where he wants it to go. There's even an instance at 3:46 when the player fires twice at an enemy at point blank range with a shot gun and missed and the camera cut to another scene really quickly as if we shouldn't focus on that. Gyro is supposed to help achieve better, smoother movement and it does in other shooters on Switch but not in Crysis. Trying to get a bead on an enemy, especially in the middle of a fire fight is so frustrating at times as a result. Even basic navigation isn't what it should be because of the control problems and it's just dumb to lock the Speed ability to the run button. Who thought keeping that in place was a good idea? Then there are the bugs and general lack of polish. Dude, there is no way in hell a normal Korean soldier in combat fatigues is taking more damage than me in an Exo Suit but it happened, more than once. Saying the hit detection is sometimes off is being kind, a lot like this review is being very kind. The hit detection is terrible. Wildly inconsistent and don't get me started on the crashes and cut scene bugs. Look, I regret buying Crysis on Switch and if I could get a refund I'd do it and never look back. The Switch version should have been delayed just like the other versions. It's nonsense to list the problems with the game, downplay some of them but then have the audacity to say it plays smooth and hold it up as one of the best shooters on Switch. It's not, they couldn't even get gyro right. Even saying it's the best console version doesn't say much considering the state of the 360 and PS3 versions. We just upgraded from a shitty version of Crysis in the last gen to a bad version of Crysis this gen. I should have just waited for the PC version, jeez. If this is the best we can get for Crysis on Switch, it should have never been made.

@@jasonmedina7058 Its not user specific. It runs below 30 frames by default. You may not have noticed if this is your first console or you are a console gamer in general. Old consoles run at 30 fps but its kind of like going from 4k to 480p. Once you game at 120fps you never want to go back. To put this into perspective our resolution over the years has gone from 480p to 4k but the N64 was 30fps and we are still gaming at 30fps. Its just not a pleasant experience imo. Also you can run frame counters on your switch and you will see the this game runs at an avg of 28fps with spike dips down to 20fps.

A lot are just bad on switch and the others are single player. If you like online shooters it's very disappointing. Apex is coming, but i hope valorant will be ported on switch.
