There are many good first person shooter ports on the Switch... Wolfenstein, Crysis and Metro redux just to name a few. Most of them also have gyro aiming support which helps a lot with my game experience.

I recently just finished Wolfenstein. Loved it, although the motion blur was crazy! I've never tried Metro, I'll have to add it to my list!

​@@whatsitlikeau The Metro series is one of the best there ever was in the story shooter genre. Especially Exodus is incredible. I don't know if all three are on the Switch, I myself played them on PC, but they're all ABSOLUTELY worth your time. More so than many, many other games.

In terms of the best port from a technical perspective, it has to be Portal 2. Runs at full resolution and 60fps. Basically the best console version of the game.

The 4 ports I enjoyed the most were Diablo 3 - The game I played the most on the Switch, the port is amazing and content wise its a great deal Dark Souls - One of the best rpgs ever and the port is great Dying Light - By far one of the most impresive ports alongside The Witcher and No Man Sky Dragons Dogma - Not the most impresive ports but it runs perfectly Wanna point out that all 4 have physical versions and they all come complete in the cartridge

Oh yeah I played an offensive amount of time in Diablo and Dragons Dogma. Haven't tried Dark Sould or Dying light yet!

@@whatsitlikeau the dark souls port is so interesting bc its called remastered but its closer to the prepare to die edition on the ps3 which a lot of people consider superior anyways. I think its a great port.

Hope you enjoy it! Dying light is banned here in Aus for some reason, but I managed to get a copy and it appears on my other Best ports list! Hope that helps!

Submnautica impressed me the most, considering the level of detail and never having a single loading screen... Sure, it's performance has issues, but the same occured on all systems so you can say they "preserved" the fidelity 😂

i just loaded up no mans sky on switch. i have it on ps4 as well. ive found some issues with the switch version such as my character getting stuck on unloaded objects. its been frustrating

I had that issue and it turned out to be my SD card. Do you have space in the system memory to move it?

By the look of the Witcher it's only playable in docked mode. the text is ridiculous. I'd be grateful if reviewers talk about both modes, hopefully showing footage. Otherwise it's just half a review.

I do aim to talk about accesability in my reviews. The UI is small on The Witcher in handheld but unfortunately it doesn't support screen recording so I could only capture docked footage for thos particular video. I'll be sure to cover performance in both modes moving forward though! I appreciate your input

I played the whole thing, both DLCs, and every side quest I could find. All in portable. Was fine for me. And I'd already played it twice through on PC, so it was obvious where the downgrades were. But I still enjoyed it.

I haven't had a look at the Switch version at all since it got its next gen update, but from what I've heard it looks even more stunning now. And I say that as someone who was genuinely, deeply impressed by the visual fidelity of the Switch version BEFORE it got any graphics upgrades.

These might not be your cup of tea but : Burnout Paradise and Grid autosport, both games but especially the latter are amazing ports. Often with Grid, I forget I’m playing on a switch. They even run at 60fps. Dying light also deserves a mention.

I love Burnout Paradise! I haven't tried Grid or Dyling light but you're the 4th person to recommend it so I have to get it!

@@whatsitlikeau Definitely try out Grid autosport then. It has both a fidelity and performance mode, and it plays like a perfect blend between being an arcade racer and a simulator, cranck up the difficulty or customise it however you like opting for a more sim feel with internal mecanical damage after collisions and remove drive assists such as traction or abs. Or you can play it very casual and just ram everyone off the road. The damage models look great with actual parts flying of, there’s cockpit view, real licensed cars etc. It’s a port they really poured a lot of time and effort in. It’s very unfortunate the game is digital only. Because that game would be an automatic improvement for any switch collection. As for Dying light, it’s probably one of the most impressive ports made for switch, Apart from having pop in on foliage when you get close to trees and overal worse drawdistance , the game looks nearly identical to the ps4 version, it even runs at a fairly stable 30 fps, and that is really quite special for a game of that size

@@whatsitlikeau i’d say don’t have too high expectations on dying light though. Altough it is great given what they did on switch, it does come with somebad frame pacing issues, and even worse pop in. But again, given the hardware : definitely not bad.

@@whatsitlikeau idk what hardcore fans are doing but i started at persona 5 and it is start- to-end one of the most entertaining games i’ve ever played. gameplay, music, story, characters, writing, art style all 10/10. only other one i’ve played is P4 and im about 10 hours into that. also really good. i dont believe any of the characters are related to each other throughout the series so no problem starting at 5

Thats good to know since I heard the P5 Tactics game is a good game but you need to play Persona 5 half way apparently. I'll grab that and check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!
