This reminds me of a quote from one of the MANY people in my life that struggle with meth: “this reminds me of the time when my ex and I would do meth and be so busy getting so much stuff done when in all actuality we were running around aimlessly and getting absolutely nothing accomplished” In their eyes they really see that they’re empowered by meth and it makes their life so much better when in reality it’s just a mess.

Once it was all set up, I decided it would be better in the next corner. And then after that, to the next corner. After about 24 hours of this, it ended up back in the original corner exactly as it was before I hit the meth.

Shortly after, I hit rock bottom (lost my sanity, lost my family, destroyed my health, lost my freedom and almost got deported) BUT kept my life somehow and was given one chance to go into rehab while still delusional and bewildered - I went and stayed clean and remained in recovery. Today I've been sober for a few years and have re-built much of what I've lost including my health and my relationships and every single day I practice gratitude and humility with my words and my thoughts and I hope Milena the same as in my experience its the only way one can overcome active addiction and hope to stay sober. And sometimes that beautiful tree does it's best to stand there living, coping with life. But underneath all that beauty and all those fruits and flowers and beauty, the pain remains and eats at it. I love this channel and I find it so interesting. Having said that I find some interviews very difficult to watch. Interestingly, it's not the emotionally "difficult" ones, but rather everyone that is functioning on autopilot (interestingly, mostly or exclusively people on uppers). Throughout the interview I kept dissociating and daydreaming. I'm literally struggling to finish the interview. It's just like she's not there, like there's nobody home. With opiate addicts you feel like you're interacting with a genuine person but with meth it's just like the lights are on, the music is blaring, there's all this stuff going on, but there's nobody home.
@joemahma3017 Жыл бұрын
Daydreaming isn’t dissociating. Please use language more properly otherwise it becomes useless.
@The_HSP_Essays Жыл бұрын
@@joemahma3017 There is no consensus as to what exactly constitutes dissociation, as it's a term that covers a very broad range of phenomena such as depersonalization, derealization, dissociative fugue, amnesia and so on. Many argue that it's a spectrum and that we are all dissociative to a degree, with the extreme being DID (dissociative identity disorder), and that daydreaming and any kind of absorption is essentially dissociative. This isn't some guy on KZbin talking, these are the giants in the field. I'll refer you to the comprehensive Dissociation and the Dissociative Disorders: Past, Present and Future . The latest edition was published recently and is a phenomenal and comprehensive work on all things dissociative. Daydreaming can definitely qualify as dissociation.

As a very sexual, sexually adventurous incredibly open individual I find women who speak this way about their sexuality are the furthest from discovering their sexuality. Even though obviously they claim the opposite. They find their worth as a woman and their sexual worth based upon the approval of men. She has no idea who she is but a man once told her, “you’re not like other girls” felt validated and ran with it.

13:55 It's relatable that she says that. About 7 years ago I snorted ice I thought it was coke. When my friend told me it was ice I stopped doing it. I may have taken two bumps and it burned and didn't like it. The next day I woke up and I got into my car and started to drive to meet a client and I was on the highway and bam I just got scared. Like I wasn't mentally in control of what I was doing I felt like it wasn't real. Hard to explain but I got a panic attack and I was very anxious to get off the highway and when I exited my luck I went on the ramp that goes to a bridge up high and I was trying to get through it but the drivers ahead of me were going slow and I was panicking even more finally I exited that pulled to a drive way and had to walk and breathe. I took bad roads home and it took so long because I kept pulling over. Ever since I've never been the same I forgot how to not be scarred driving on the fast lane on the highway. I'm afraid to fly because I think I will panic and can't get off the plane when I want. There was one time I had to drink a 6 pack just to make it over a bridge. I've even quit coffee because I think too much caffeine gets my anxiety triggered now that I know what it feels like. Once you know the fear of anxiety its hard not to think about it during potential triggers. It sucks not being like before.

The other day a friend of mine was passing by through a spot in our city, that people use to do hardcore drugs, (It’s in the middle of the city, in a very busy street but you know, drugs are everywhere). She was passing throw and a bunch of kids were there too, and she told me that two guys were about to do heroin right in front of them, and one of the guys realizes that underage kids were right in front of them and said to other guy something like “ are you crazy? Don’t you see the kids?? We are not going to do this here!!!” Man… this words stuck in my head all week. A person that cannot control his addiction, but at the same time had the common sense that doing that in front of kids is just wrong. It’s sad AF…
