A friend of mine grew her hair like that! It was gorgeous and black and she was in her late 40's. We were working in a restaurant and one of our co-workers made a remark that she was too old to wear her hair that long. I turned around and said "You're just jealous you can't grow yours that long"?

@mrsx7944 NO sh*t!! My Maternal grandmother died well into her 80's with her long Silver white hair that was was past her butt. My late mother also passed with long hair. I'm 50 with long hair and will continue to grow it past my butt. As long as it's NOT fake ass wigs, weaves or extention it's all good!

CrystalDreamsy2k - There must be something about the name Crystal and long hair. :) Mine's now lower-back and thick (but recently cut of ten inches - Sitting on it was hurting my neck.) I was named after the Krystle Carrington character from Dynasty. I feel the same way about my Crown of Glory (hehe, nice to see someone else knows that term!) It takes so much work to maintain, but it's worth it. I've had it very long for so many years, I'd feel naked without it! It becomes like a security blanket.

Wow! It took me halfway into this to notice that the interviewer is Steve Doocy. He was kinda nerdy even back then! I'm very surprised that it *only* takes Crystal 20 minutes to wash it and 30 minutes to brush. She must be the lucky type that doesn't have to blow dry. With half that hair, it takes me an hour of towel drying and blow drying. (It'd take 45 minutes to blow dry if I didn't towel dry, so it's easier the other way.) Crystal must have had her hair maintenance down to an art form!

Sure the must a master in the art of maintain of her long hair, at least she does it for a long time now. according to my own observations ( and video collection) she has it to the floor since around 1984), and still butt length by the end of the 70's. Usually it is recommended by any long hair tutorials to avoid blow drying as much as possible for long hair health. I guess it must so take an eternity to dry in such condition though.

Just let it air dry ....ot at least half way !!!! I haven't used blow dryer in. Long time , and like my natural wave too!! No way ld spend all that time drying it , and it's rough on hair ....

I think that maybe Crystal Gayle would make a pretty Mary Magdalene for a Biblical movie epic, and who would be better for her leading men than Peter Billingsley and Clint Eastwood?
