Little gems that may have been one-hit wonders, but man, were they wonders. Even Whitney Houston; that first hit song "Saving All My Love" . . . in fact, that's amazingly similar to this one! My Grandparents lived right there in the hollow or on the ridge when Loretta was a young woman and Crystal was a small child. My Grandparents would go to the Grand Ole Opera quite often , my Grandma dressed to the 9's in glittery western outfits. You would have thought she was married to Porter Wagner. They always had VIP seats and rubbed elbows with all the legends. Anyhow in 1978 my GP's took me to Camden Park in West Virginia on Memorial Day weekend. I was 12 yrs old. Crystal was performing. I watched the show and at the end you could stand in line on the one side of a chain link fence for autographs or just briefly talk. So me and Grandma stood in line. Now me not knowing any of the history of her and my GP's , it was our turn to talk to her. Right off Crystal says " Macel , where have you been and who is this good looking young man that's with you? Grandma says this is my oldest grandchild. Crystal then says get over this fence and give me a hug and a kiss. You bet I did. A memory I will never forget. Same year at my county fair , Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius performed. After the show they went out a back door of the small stage. Me and my buddy ran around back as they stepped right into a bed of a pick-up truck cause it was muddy. Helen says right off " Hey good looking what's your name. I told her and she says get up her and give me a kiss. I did , you bet and got her and Jim's autographs.. I was 12 yrs old.

@@dugroz I can answer your question and so can anyone else who possesses the bare minimum i.e. basic, elementary education in anatomy, biology, genetics and the law of probability : Did "Ms. Casella" meet her '[kid]goal'? The answer would be a resounding "NO!" As far as having 'hair as long as' Crystal Gayle is concerned: That is extremely unlikely to occur. One's terminal length is determined by his or her genetic code. Gayle has what is often referred to as "10 Year Hair", that is, her hair(s) remains in the growth phase of what is a cyclical process for 10+ years whereas the average person's scalp hair remains in said phase for, typically, 3 to 5 years. Being that human scalp hair grows at a rate of one half inch per month(that would be 6 inches a year) and varies little if at all from individual to individual , the 'average person' reaches, if they are lucky and avoid other natural and environmental influences that can negatively impact maximum length potential, a head of hair of between 18 and 30 inches -granted they don't cut it at some arbitrarily chosen time during the period in which the overwhelming majority of their hairs are in the aforementioned growth phase.

I was just watching a PBS FUND DRIVE show, in which Crystal Gayle was featured singing her famous Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue, and I just had to switch over to KZbin to watch her every performance of it that is out there. What can you say about this? Let's start with a wonderfully written song, more Pop than Country I'd say. Always performed by excellent musicians accompanying her, whether live or in studio. And Crystal herself of course. Starting with a great voice, beautifully stylized. Her use of glissando, slipping in and out of falsetto effortlessly, with great dynamics. (More so I think in this 2009 performance. It shows more maturity I think.) And let's not forget about her beauty. Elegant, graceful, classy, using it all to her advantage, and our delight, with the camera. The "total package" as they say. (I like how she ended this performance on that high, Major 7th note, giving it a nice unresolved, jazz effect.)
@sbeni22 жыл бұрын

Such beautiful hair, and with her voice, it really branded her. You don't see much talent and lyrics like this today.

The first woman I ever saw with really long hair; and very beautiful. She was my inpiration to grow my hair long. I now have 50 in. length hair.

Keep growing it, I think ladies with long hair look much more beautiful than with short hair., and if the profile pic is really you, then might I say you are a beautiful lady. Thank goodness my wife doesn't read my comments :)

I thunk she has been inspirational for many women and girls.

Awww, thanks for the compliment. :) Yes, that's me...w/ my hair tightly curled. Long hair is beautiful, but can be hazardous, though. Examples, when I leave my hair straight; I mistakenly, sit on it, slam it in doors and cabinets, high winds cause it to smack strangers in the face... etc. *XD* BTW..there's nothing wrong with complimenting the opposite sex. If a woman is secure in her relationship, there shouldn't be a worry. *:)*
