Love how you use the two main colors and layered them on to make the whole painting stands out. The process is enjoyable to watch. Placement of things look casual but e everything pulls together well. Soothing and clever piece.

This is beautiful. You make it look so easy. I'm sure my attempt will look like pre-school but I know I'll have lots of fun trying! My iris looks like an alien being but it surely was a blast! Thank you so much. And, I've learned to slow down KZbin as you suggested and it's made a big difference.

❤❤❤Absolutely stunning Crystal! I aspire to paint as free and loose as you. I'm getting there but I seem to always get hung up on the details...I start out loose but when it comes to adding the second(or third) layer that's when it goes awry lol..my paintings come out pretty albeit a little forced I feel. I just want to fly through a painting like you do. Then I wonder maybe that's just not my "style" but....I want it to be because it just seems so much more relaxing and fulfilling. Btw- I'd love to see your loose approach to a landscape sometimes🤷 have you ever tried it?

Hey Haley! I have actually just completed a mini landscape series. Its on my instagram if you want to check it out. And would definitely do a video on that one day. Its so interesting how we are all wired! I loose patience for details, and usually at the 20min mark of a painting, I just can't go on anymore. And at some point. I'm like DONE. So maybe its my own lazy attitude to really 'finishing' a painting that makes it seem loose! who knows!?!?!?! 100 years ago, my style of painting would be considered very unfinished and a bad example for artists! Lots of artists love going into details and maybe that's your happiness and joy! There are lots of ways to paint detail without too much stress I think. Just love your process!

I can not manage to keep my paper wet. I try so hard to achieve these beautiful blends and every petal dries so quickly. My flowers look so flat. How????? How long did it take you to manage your water control? Please share your tips. I love your work, I follow as quickly as I can but can't get it to stay damp, lol.

Are you using 100% cotton paper? It stays wet longer if you do. And you can always rewet it later it its totally dry no worries. Go at a pace that suits you. You'll get there! I think I always 'had' water control management because at every stage of my progress, i was ok with what I did. So see if you can enjoy the process and breathe away the frustration. Good luck.
